What's the big deal about abortion?

So many “pro-choicers” say that an abortion is the hardest thing a woman will ever do, the toughest decision a woman will ever have to make. Why?

If an abortion doesn’t kill a human being, if abortion is not murder, if abortion is not morally reprehensible, then what’s the big deal?

It’s a complete contradiction. Pro-choice advocates go on and on about this being such an agonizing decision. They’re proving our point! Of course it’s an agonizing decision, because by getting an abortion, you are choosing your own convenience over a human life. Otherwise, it would just be a medical procedure, like getting your tonsils out.

Who agonizes over getting their tonsils out? Who needs the support of friends to get their tonsils out? Who tries to hide the fact that they got their tonsils out? Nobody!

Having one’s tonsils out is a mildly painful surgery with no moral implications.

Abortion is a mildly painful medical procedure as well, but with the result of killing a human life. Even the pro-choice people know this, which is why they tout the fact that it is such a painful decision for women.

Their own argument fails right there. It’s painful because it’s wrong, and een the most hardened, pro-choice people know its wrong deep down, or it wouldn’t be a big deal. They make our argument for us. How can they not see this?

Whenever someone gets up and starts spouting off about how hard it is to make such a decision, we should all simply ask “Why?”, and watch them try and answer that simplest of questions.

WHY is getting an abortion such a hard decision if there is nothing wrong with it?
 
Well that answer is obvious. It’s all those Christians faults for telling people that a human fetus is alive! sarcasm

Now to get to the point, I do honestly think pro-choice people blame pro-lifers for makings it a social black mark to have an abortion. I’m sure in their own perfect world women could chat about how their BC didn’t work after a one night stand and so they had an abortion after a latte at Starbucks and not have anyone have any care in the world about it.

So how else do you suppose they idealize society handling abortion other than just “whatever”; considering they’re fighting tooth and nail to make people believe human development is just “a blob of tissue” I would only assume it was so people felt comfortable going to an abortion clinic without the feeling that they did something wrong.
 
The problem with the legalized abortion that they’re fighting so hard for is: IT DOESN’T WORK!

Next January will mark 40 years since the controversial Roe v. Wade decision. The idea over these last 39 years was to make abortions accessible, safe and rare. It was also about a woman choosing what happens to her body.
  • There are several cases of women being forced at gunpoint to get an abortion while being dropped off at Planned Parenthood, or the guy threatens to dump her if she doesn’t abort. She has the abortion and the guy has driven away leaving her at the clinic so she has to walk or call a ride, or he dumps her shortly after the abortion.
  • Despite abortion being legal, there are still people who perform abortions at home, or who drop their newborn babies in dumpsters.
  • Lies about fetal development make women think their baby is just a bunch of cells… well, the organs started to form before you even found out you were pregnant! Now at least there are places that want the women to get an ultrasound before they abort, so they an actually give informed consent. And liberals are whining and complaining about this. I guess they prefer uninformed consent so they can make more money and their friends can make more money?
  • I do not hear much about adoption, yet there are thousands and thousands of married couples ready and willing to give the baby a home, even homes for kids born with disabilities. So why the, “if I can’t have this baby, nobody can” mentality? Every abortion is a huge slap in the face to the people who want to adopt.
  • Studies show that the overwhelming majority of women regret their abortions. Between 70% and 82%. That is a HUGE red flag that something just isn’t right.
  • The small percentage of women who don’t regret them either a) don’t realize that the baby was a human being (mentally block out what they did) or b) didn’t know that adoption was an option. Their parents said to raise the baby or abort it, and they needed to finish school and were not in a place where they could raise the baby, so they basically forced their daughter to have an abortion.
  • There is no personal responsibility anymore. The divorce rate is very high, and more and more people aren’t getting married at all, so they just leave when they get bored. STDs are in record numbers in many areas. People are broken and don’t know what love means.
The bottom line is, abortion hurts women, and it hurts society. It is a quick fix with long-term consequences. I just think it’s sad how the media ignores all the women who regret their abortions. We need to learn from other people’s mistakes and their pain, not repeat them.

An analogous question. If we’re all just reducible to blobs of tissue, why should anyone care about the murder of an abortionist any more than the murder of… well, any other blob of tissue?

Abortion IS legalized murder. What the pro-choicers don’t realize is that there is one easy thing to avoid an unplanned pregnancy, don’t have sex until you are married.

I love the argument that since the baby needs the mother to live, she should be able to kill it since its basically a parasite. Can we also kill anyone in hospitals who require machines or extraordinary measures to live, such as people on respirators? how about people who need dialysis or frequent blood transfusions, since they can’t live on their own without help either. How about those who can’t take care of themselves, like the infirm and the handicapped? Can we violently murder them too? After all, they wouldn’t be alive without someone to care for them. Can we chop them up into little pieces or suck their brains out of their skulls and throw their bodies in the garbage? If I’m in an accident and break my pelvis and need someone to feed me and take care of me for several months, can they just kill me too?

Or is it just because the baby is small. If someone is below a certain size, can we kill them?

I also love how they try to figure out at exactly what point a fetus can feel pain, as if that has ANYTHING to do with the morality of killing it. So we can kill anyone who can’t feel pain now? The paralyzed, the unconscious?
 
We could simply ask our selves what would Jesus say - I think we know the answer to that.Or do you actually believe he would say it ok?Are you a follower of Christ or not - you can’t be both.

Some people have reduced it to a medical condition which is a lie.
 
Via natural moral law…many know that it is what it is…but choose to do so anyway.

Some do so with eyes open…some due to pressure…extreme fear etc…or the constant work of the culture of death telling them it is not a child… (ie with the help of those in the pro-abortion movement).

May they come to realize in truth what it is they have done and seek healing and forgiveness…may their hearts find rest.

And may others thinking of abortion come to see clearly what is it is and choose life.

Actually I have read a number of comments on various blogs that state exactly that. We live in an evil world, and some of the violent pro-abortion supporters also support killing the elderly and those in a coma.

A number of years ago someone I am close to had a cancerous tumor on his thyroid.

He noticed the lump in December, by the time he had surgery to remove it was March. There was a time delay because the doctors wanted to makes absoloutely sure that it was cancer, because the surgery to remove it would have put his vocal cords at risk.

He had biopsies, sonograms (where they actually showed him the tumor) Finally his surgery was 6 hours long, all in effort to remove only the cancer and save at least part of the thyroid…at the end all of the thyroid needed to be removed.

Ironic how a tumor was treated so conservatively…but in my state a woman 23 weeks pregnant can decide today she no longer wants the baby (alive) and go and abort, no questions asked, no required sonogram, no waiting period at all, no need for a second opinion, no emergency medical situation necessary and no parental notification if she’s under age.

Well actually in the case where you are only surviving through the assistance of a machine with no chance of recovery I do believe the Double Principle Effect kicks in and family is allowed to let you die without risking the sin of murder.

It appears that some pro-choicers do not actually care. First, there are some who advocate population control, and that simply means fewer babies need to be born. 1968 was the culmination of a planned assault on the otherwise trusting population of the United States.

It saw the publication of the book, The Population Bomb by Dr. Paul Ehrlich.

I would get a medical abortion in a heartbeat if my birth control failed. It would not be a difficult choice at all. If, however, the fetus had developed to the point that a surgical abortion would be my only choice, I would be very hesitant and probably would not do it. That would indeed be a big deal.

That’s why I use highly effective birth control 👍

I only wish people would realize how racist abortion actually is. It is tantamount to genocide.
