What's the craziest Anti-Catholic whopper you've ever heard?

This one is particuarly outrageous because of the source.

My 7 year old daughter got her first taste of anti-Catholic bigotry a few weeks back.

Her 7 year old school “friend” upon discovering that she was Catholic informed her that “we hate Catholics because you believe Mary and Joseph have magic powers.”

I mean come on who teaches a 7 year old to hate?

Well on a positive note, at least we know the little girl is paying attention either at home, at their “church” or both.

Chuck

That was to funny! :bowdown2:
Thank you. I do have my moments. Anyone looking back over my posts must think I’m a miserable cuss but I’m not. My friends think I’m funny in a good way. :hmmm::hypno::hypno::banghead:

The unfounded claim that Catholics were responsible for something called the Burning Time. theatlantic.com/past/docs/issues/2001/01/allen.htm I actually first heard this claim in a “Catholic” college I was attending!

For those of you who don’t have the time to read the whole article:

“Historians have overturned another basic Wiccan assumption: that the group has a history of persecution exceeding even that of the Jews. The figure Starhawk cited – nine million executed over four centuries – derives from a late-eighteenth-century German historian; it was picked up and disseminated a hundred years later by a British feminist named Matilda Gage and quickly became Wiccan gospel (Gardner himself coined the phrase “the Burning Times”). Most scholars today believe that the actual number of executions is in the neighborhood of 40,000. The most thorough recent study of historical witchcraft is Witches and Neighbors (1996), by Robin Briggs, a historian at Oxford University. Briggs pored over the documents of European witch trials and concluded that most of them took place during a relatively short period, 1550 to 1630, and were largely confined to parts of present-day France, Switzerland, and Germany that were already racked by the religious and political turmoil of the Reformation. The accused witches, far from including a large number of independent-minded women, were mostly poor and unpopular. Their accusers were typically ordinary citizens (often other women), not clerical or secular authorities. In fact, the authorities generally disliked trying witchcraft cases and acquitted more than half of all defendants. Briggs also discovered that none of the accused witches who were found guilty and put to death had been charged specifically with practicing a pagan religion.”

Yes, the profesor was a total feminist.

Well–this David J. Stewart is a real lu-lu…:bigyikes:

"The 5th of the 15 promises made by Our Lady of Fatima concerning the Rosary is so blasphemous that it is unmistakable, clear, proof, that Catholics do indeed worship Mary (which is sinful idolatry). Here’s the 5th promise…

The soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. —SOURCE

Blasphemy!!! You cannot show me even one Scripture from the Word of God where we are told to trust in Mary, by reciting the Rosary to be saved. In fact, the word “Rosary” is NOT a Bible term. The Rosary is straight out of the pits of Hell. Jesus condemned vain repetition in Matthew 6:7. According to Our Lady of Fatima (whose teachings are officially sanctioned by the Vatican), a person can obtain eternal life through Mary by reciting the Rosary. In sharp contrast, Jesus Christ proclaimed in John 14:6… “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” How could Catholics be so arrogant, so blind, and so apostate as to believe that salvation is found in Mary? I tell you, Catholicism is of the Devil.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has absolutely nothing to do with Mary. None of the Apostles ever mentioned Mary in their Epistles. Jesus never directed us to recognize Mary. In fact, the Bible clearly states in Matthew 11:11 that there has never been a child born amongst women greater than John the Baptist. And no wonder, because John the Baptist prepared the people for the coming of the Savior—Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Yet, Catholics sinfully worship Mary, bowing to her statue as if she’s a god. Unbelievably, during one rosary recital (a chaplet), a Catholic will recite 53 hail Marys! Each “Hail Mary” recital is 42 words long. 42 x 53 = 2,226 words just praising Mary! The devout Catholic who prays the rosary every day will praise Mary with 812,490 words in a year’s time. That is idolatry! Again, Our Lady of Fatima said…

The soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. —SOURCE

That’s a BIG LIE!!! The Vatican has a lot of explaining to do, because something smells very rotten. One of the most unholy groups in this world is the Holy See, i.e., Catholic leadership. They wrote the book on self-righteousness. No devout Catholic dare deny the promises of Our Lady of Fatima, i.e., their Blessed Virgin Mary. The Catholic Mary (which is nowhere even close to the Biblical Mary) claims to have the power to save those who recite the Rosary. No wonder Catholicism’s Mary is often referred to as The Great Whore. Catholics have mutated Jesus’ earthly mother into a two-headed, fire-breathing, demonic, monster.

The Biblical Mary was a horrible sinner (James 2:10), who needed a Savior (Luke 1:47), and told others to do what Jesus commanded (John 2:5). The Biblical Mary was not a Perpetual Virgin (Matthew 13:55-56), was not Immaculately Conceived (Romans 3:23), wasn’t Bodily Assumed into Heaven (Hebrews 9:27), and she doesn’t intercede on our behalf (1st Timothy 2:5… “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”). The Blessed Virgin Mary of the Catholic religion is straight from Hell.

Oh! Listen my friend, the Catholic Church is a prisonhouse of religion! Catholics have churchianity without Christianity, and religion without truth. From the cradle to the casket, the Catholic Church offers people a package deal; but it’s a guaranteed road straight into the depths of Hellfire and damnation."

This guy spews so much hatred and anger while at the same time talking about Jesus…and yet it’s the Catholic Church that is a cult and the “Pope is the Vicar of Hell”…

I’m not even going to post his website because it is so foul…
He has a lovely link to a Baptist church there…which their website seems innocent enough…but it has a link back to his…

I’ve encountered a man on another forum who makes the charge that the Christian God is a monster and that our Jesus is the monster’s assigned exterminator. He also claims that Christianity seeks to destroy the diversity of nature based faiths and has caused the death of tens of millions.

About Catholics in particular he says that we have replaced animal sacrifice with a human sacrifice and that our ritual of symbolically eating the flesh and drinking the blood of a human being disgusts him.
I hate to break it to you, but it is NOT symbolic. We eat and drink the ACTUAL flesh and blood of Jesus, it only appears to be bread and wine.

No need to get all sarcastic and defensive with me, Linda Marie. The Paleo-Pagan regarded it as symbolic and I didn’t take the time to argue the finer points with him. If I had said as you have said, " We eat and drink the ACTUAL flesh and blood of Jesus…" it would have proven his point.

Let me see Anti-Catholic whoppers.

I don’t think mine are half as good as the one’s I’ve read here.

Use of the crucifix stems from sex worship in Ancient Egypt. 😃

Catholics believe the original sin was sex.

:extrahappy:

The Catholic Church teaches all Protestants are going to hell. That’s what ‘there is no salvation outside the Church’ means. Unfortunately a Protestant friend of mine was told this by a Catholic!

You can tell someone is a Catholic by looking at them. They have smaller eyes than Protestants and their eyes are closer together.

Protestants had a greater work ethic than Catholics.

Catholic guys are only after one thing. Look at all the kids they have.

:rolleyes:I was told that about Protestant guys as they are allowed to use contraception. I’ve concluded that all men are only after one thing.

In debate with a Protestant friend concerning the Reformation: OK, Reformers burnt heretics as well BUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH DID IT FIRST!

Oh well, that makes it ok then. :ehh:

It says in the Bible the next Pope will the last and a incarnation of a devil from the abyss who looks like JP II.

Catholics go to hell because they smoke.

Last but not least and perhaps unique to Northern Ireland, it is God’s will that Protestants should rule over Catholics. Catholics should not rule over Protestants as Ulster Protestants are descended from the 12 tribes of Israel and Queen Elizabeth I is a direct descendent of King David.

:egyptian::egyptian::

I actually “heard” (on an internet forum) someone claim that we don’t believe in the Trinity or in the resurrection of Christ (proven by our use of the Crucifix-apparently we think Jesus “is still up there” on the cross ). I then wrote out the entire Nicene Creed for them, and stated that we recite this every Sunday. I got no response, of course.
Heard that one. Catholics don’t believe the Trinity or Christ rose from the dead.

Roughly translates as, '‘we’re right and you are wrong and you’re not going to heaven’ rather than we think you don’t believe this in my opinion.

I would like to hear some of your stories, so think of the most bizarre charge you’ve ever heard made against the Church and share it with the rest of us. Books, conversations, Internet, radio, anything is fair game.🙂
All the Jack Chick stuff, definitely…Once I heard a non-Catholic refer to Catholics as “Cathoholics.” I wasn’t sure what he meant. Was it because we use wine instead of grape juice for Communion, or was it because he thought all Catholics were drunks? I didn’t ask him, but it caught me by surprise, especially since I never saw much use of alcohol in my own Catholic family.

From one of my friends who was innocently questioning me about the Catholic faith…

“I always thought Catholics had to confess to the Pope”

We laughed together about it after I explained what confession is really about. 🙂

I have actually found it rather effective to say, “Oh, no, no. We are far worse than any cannibal, since cannibals first kill their victims, before eating them. We consume the risen Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, alive and whole.” 😃

They haven’t come up with a canned reply for that one, just yet. 😛

:hypno: :hypno: :hypno: :ouch:

:hmmm:OK; what do they do then? Go about measuring & saying: “Nope, no use preaching to this one; his eyes are too small; he’s predestined to be Catholic”!:dts: :doh2:

Can anyone answer all 17 questions and prove that Cathoilcism or Christianity is the Truth, using historical sciences and scholarly work. Tu quoquo answers, opinions, and whims do not reflect Absolute Truth. Looking forward to a great discussion. You can view all 17 questions below:

youtube.com/watch?v=HYOvFXKkzWQ

P.S. Stop blocking me. This just shows how the Catholic Church claims immunity from anything, including sexual acts done by priests.

There are people who believe this.

It sounds like to me like, you haven’t sufficiently reasoned this out. Because, by admitting that the statement “Proves His Point”, is tantamount to admitting that you don’t have a reasonable or logical argument, with which to discuss this with the fella.

That leads to me ask you, then, if there is something about this statement that bothers you?

This one is umm… Yeah… That is one seriously scary site.
Well.
Apparently the Pyramid from the Image of the Divine Mercy is Concrete proof that we’re connected in some way to Masons, Scientology, Mormonism, and Nickelodeon.
And then it goes on a LONG rant of how the Illuminati control everything from Children’s television stations to the Russian Orthodox Church. (As evidence by the Skull on the Russian Priest’s Cross, you know the one that represents Adam, who was buried at Calvary)
And then It somehow (Beyond my understanding) Connects all that to the “Blasphemy” of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Above: The illuminati pyramid is abundantly clear in the Catholic image of DIVINE MERCY.

Notice the Illuminati “Skull and Bones” Emblem on the cross

Seriously, is there something that is not controlled by the Illuminati or the Jesuits? 🤷

I’m not entirely convinced the Jesuits actually exist. I believe they were made up by Anti-Catholics to make us look bad. 😃 😛
Okay, you win.
Thread closed.
😃

Runner up.
It’s gonna be hard to beat these two.
