What's the craziest Anti-Catholic whopper you've ever heard?

Because apparently, the guy who runs the site must only be counting practicing orthodox Catholics, leaving the lapsed and the cafeteria Catholics behind. šŸ˜›

It’s actually ā€˜Great Mother’. Which still doesn’t make sense, yeah.

Apparently because the Jesuits’ full name is the Society of Jesus and the Holy See has ā€˜Holy’ in it. And we all know that ā€˜Roman Catholics’ worship Mary and perform unholy practices. 😃

Because we all know how saintly Hitler was…

It seems to me though that the Ascended Frenchman is actually the Flying Dutchman’s distant cousin. Neither were as talented as the Levitating Englishman-Gliding Scotsman-Soaring Welshman trio though.
The site’s etymologies reminds me of a parody I wrote a while ago:
(Entering tongue-in-cheek mode)…Come to think of it, the Jesuit order must only be a front for the Order of Preachers! The Dominicans are apparently responsible for EVERY EVIL IN THE WORLD - just look at how many Dominicans participated in the Inquisition (for example, Robert le Bougre)!
What’s more, who do you think authored the Malleus Maleficarum? Heinrich Kramer and James Sprenger, both Dominicans!
If we might add, the Pope who presided in the Council of Trent - where the Roman Catholic Church dared to add books to the Biblical canon - is Antonio (Michele) Ghislieri, OP; also known as Pope Pius V!!! :bigyikes:
One symbol of the Dominicans is a BLACK dog - based on my sources this must come from the Egyptian god Anubis, often depicted as a BLACK jackal (related to the dog)!

The Dominican dog.

An Anubis statue.

Note the torch carried by the Dominican dog. It would seem that this is a covert reference to the heathen practices of old: the Egyptian Book of the Dead describes the making of four lighted lamps/TORCHES which are made for the dead person! How low can you get?

Still not convinced? Just look at the name ā€œDominicanā€. We can divide it into domus (ā€œhouseā€) and inicus, which means ā€œunjustā€, ā€œunfairā€, or even ā€œhostileā€ (!!!). So, the name apparently means ā€œhostile/unjust houseā€! Just see how their names speak of their actions. (Ending tongue-in-cheek mode)
;-)

I used to play RO, but just fell away from it (you can only play MMOs for so long).

I enjoy the Catholicness of the Priest classes, they are problems like the ā€˜priestess’ class, but that’s just so that players can have male or female characters (the classes are also Catholic implicitly, not explicitly).
Yeah I hear ya but the Priestess style (and its ranked-up versions :o) never fail to make me play every now and then. They’re just so cute! >w< I hope nobody finds this offensive but my Ragnarok romance fantasy has always been me as some hot-headed but quiet tsundere Warlock and my dream girl the quiet, pacifistic, and ingenue Archbishop.
Here are the skills a character can get along the priest class tree:

Ruwach
Signum Crucis
Angelus
Aqua Benedicta
Assumptio
Kyrie Eleison
Magnificat
Imposito Manus
Aspersio
Gloria
Sanctuary
Suffragium
Meditatio
Basilica
Lex Divina
Lex Aeterna
Redemptio
Resurrection
Benedictio Sanctissimi Sacramenti
Eucharistia

While there can be varied opinions about this, I like the idea behind the efficacy behind prayers like the Signum Crucis and the Magnificat.
I forgot what Signum Crucis did but who could say no to a buff that increases your HP/SP recovery rate? šŸ˜›

I hated Lex Divina though… then again its obviously because I always played the destructive wizarding classes of which it was the bane (Mage, Wizard, High Wizard, Warlock). You hit me with one of those during a guild war and you’ve pretty much snuffed out a huge chunk of our AoE defenses.

Its kinda ironic though. Nuts like Jack Chick would probably go wild and say, ā€œWizards and Priests are the same, they worship the deeeevil! Oh Jaaaayeesus save us!! Teh players are Cathlic!! DXā€ However, anyone who has ever put those two classes side by side could never find a sharper difference.

Priests - Heals, supports, combats undead and demons. Majority of skills are overall towards the improvement of life.

Wizards - Walking, human weapons of mass magical destruction. Theirs is the path to the pinnacle of magical power!

Yes, they’re quite the same indeed.
Another former RO player here! 😃
I find it not funny that someone has not mentioned the Crusader class yet, with skills like Divine Protection, Holy Cross, Grand Cross, Sacrifice and Faith. 🤷 šŸ˜‰
Ahh, Grand Cross and Sacrifice… always a killer in WoE. >_<;;
At least getting an Asura in the face would cost the enemy. T_T

Faith is a ridiculous skill, I never played one though. XD

My main classes were SL/Sin/Blacksmith. Soul Linkers are pretty comparable to wizards in terms of raw power, but their buff skills aren’t anything to sneeze at either.

A while ago I actually wondered whether a Crusader who will use no other skill he/she has in his/her repertory except for Faith would be considered to subscribe to the idea of Sola Fide. 😃

Faith: Basic Crusader skill mastered at Lv.10.
Increase the Crusader’s maximum HP and resistance to the Holy property.

…But we all know that we are not saved by ā€˜Faith alone’. (insert rimshot here)

Funny but unfortunately the game wouldn’t allow it, you’d at least have to have 40 skill points in swordsman classes.

But it’s pretty obvious that a lot of sola fideists are into bashing

There’s a wild guy on you tube hitting statues of Mary with a hammer in his ā€œchurch.ā€

Crazy guy! youtube.com/watch?v=PrPrbdonJ68 Takes a hammer to a statue of Mary and …well watch it. For some reason he thinks Catholics worship ceramic statues.:confused:

His sarcasm…he thinks he’s Hezakiah?

I wonder how he would feel if someone treated a statue of his birth mother this way.

It’s amusing that he claims to be ā€œapostolic.ā€

The suspension of disbelief required to actually agree with this guy borders on psychosis.

:confused::confused::confused:
So does he take a hammer to his pictures in his house, don’t want to see him worshiping uncle Joe pictures.

Not that it makes a big difference, but isn’t that a statue of St. Therese, the Little Flower? I don’t believe statues of Mary have her holding flowers and a crucifix. On a related note, I wonder how that preacher would feel about taking a hammer to a statue of Martin Luther King.

You can say ā€œGreat Motherā€, I’ll say ā€œBig Mamaā€. :D:p

I was thinking the same thing too. Except in my parish her Veil is brown, that confused me.

I can’t get used to the Random AMEN!! and That’s right!

EDIT: I see the remnants of the brown paint now.

Poor St. Therese being confused for Our Lady. Both ladies must be shaking their heads in disbelief in Heaven right now. :hmmm:

I wonder what he’s gonna say when he sees both St.Therese and Our Lady in heaven, who are constantly praying for not only him but for his whole congregation everyday.

Hi Rainy64,

Hey… he could think he is God! Why settle for merely being a prophet when you have far more grandiose delusions!

God bless
