Agreed.I would stay away from CARM, it’s just an occasion of sin.

More specifically Matt Slick’s reformed position I bet :tsktsk:I am currently “banned” for three days because I replied to one of the anti-Catholic posters that he/she made numerous “ad hominem” attacks… apparently I violated the rule against challenging arguments from followers of the Reformed position.
Amen, and post the “Shake the dust off your feet” scripture as you exit en-mass!Catholics should boycott CARM.
JD27076,Well, recently on carm.org. I met a few Catholics who debate/have casual conversation with a lot of Protestants [Fundamentalist].
Well, I was one of them. One of the members were talking about the Hail Mary. Well, I posted the Hail Mary for someone to see it. Then the next day, I tried logging in, and I received a ban notice (7 days) for posting Idolatry.
This is just absurd to me. This website is not Christian at all. If they were Christian, they would of have accepted my prayer, even though it was to the intersessions of Mary, OR AT LEAST ignored it.
This proves that this website is frightened of Catholics and of the truth we hold. So they try to get rid of us. Well I have a message for them, read Matthew 16:18, should tell you everything you need to know about us.
Baptist Board is owned by a fundamentalist preacher in Washington State. He also owns the ‘fighting fundamentalist forum’ which, believe it or not, is worse than CARM.JD27076,
I’m sorry you were banned; but it’s kind of a losing battle in sites like that. I tried to correct some serious misconceptions about Catholics on BaptistBoard. They banned me forever, claiming I was a “Catholic Troll.” I was still a Baptist when that happened. Go figure.
Anna
I’d be afraid to even look at a forum with that name.Baptist Board is owned by a fundamentalist preacher in Washington State. He also owns the ‘fighting fundamentalist forum’ which, believe it or not, is worse than CARM.
I guess that explains it.Baptist Board is owned by a fundamentalist preacher in Washington State. He also owns the ‘fighting fundamentalist forum’ which, believe it or not, is worse than CARM.
Probably a wise decision.I’d be afraid to even look at a forum with that name.![]()
Last time I peeked was about six months ago. It’s pretty much dying now. There are no moderators and the owner apparently rakes in the cash from all the ads.I’d be afraid to even look at a forum with that name.![]()
Oh and is it scary. You’d be surprised how many people have such a twisted view of the Church.I’d be afraid to even look at a forum with that name.![]()
I bet many Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodist, Episcopalians, Quakers, and Presbyterians would be deemed as Heretics along with us Catholics according to CARM.
The sight should be called
Christianity
According to
Reformed
Misanthropes.
What is the C.A.R.M declaration of faith I wonder.
I believe in Matt Slick our Almighty interpreter,
Creator of this Holy and bless-ed forum;
I believe in James White who was predestined elect,
born of the Holy Ghost;
Consubstantial with Matt Slick.
Through them our salvation is revealed.
They came down from their Thrones of Glory
they were persecuted under Robert Sungenis;
After being slaughtered, they rose again and ascended back into the
Ministries they founded; Their theology will have no end.
I believe in John Calvin who proceeds forth from the mouth of
Matt Slick and James White.
Whom with Matt Slick and James White
is to be Revered and Venerated.
I believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost that is wholly apart from water.
I believe in the Remnant Elect invisible Church,
and look forward to more biblical teachings, the
Conversion of all Catholics whom are eternally lost
unless they have been elected to receive our gospel
Amen!

And for the low. low price of $75.00, you can become a graduate of the CARM online Schools of Theology, Apologetics, and Critical Thinking!
And who says higher education is dead in this country?
After seeing your post, I was immeasurably curious. So, I started reading through some of the threads in CARM’s forum.Woah. I went over there just to see what the fuss was about. I think the saying those people needs meds is too kind. The negative spirit there was overwhelming. I saw that it was even affecting Catholic posters. It reminded me of when I had left Mormonism and got involved in the Anti-Mormon movement. All I learned was how to hate in the name of Jesus.
I can’t believe they deleted your posts; but maybe your words had more effect than you realize. Otherwise, why did they feel the need to delete them.After seeing your post, I was immeasurably curious. So, I started reading through some of the threads in CARM’s forum.
They should change their name to HARM. I have never seen such a concentrated amount of anti-Catholic venom anywhere before, and all from people claiming to be Christian. My favorite poster was particularly skilled, and proudly signed each of his posts “in the Name of Jesus Christ”.
After seeing the attacks levied against two frustrated, well intended Catholics who had regrettably engaged in debate with this individual, I decided to create an account and pitch in a bit. I entered two posts, very charitable, but subtly direct. Using their own tactics, I provided two quotes from NT Scripture to make the point that we as Christians are called to seek forgiveness and not dispense our own form of judgment (isn’t that the theme of Christ’s entire ministry, and his experience in dealing with religious leaders of His own days among us?).
Well, I logged on this morning, anxious to see how “cleverly” I may have been attacked. My posts were deleted. My account was still active, however.
Lord have mercy on them!
That’s pretty much what I did - respond entirely with Scripture. Further, I did not do so in a blasphemous * manner, proudly boasting that I was acting “in the Name of Jesus Christ”.I can’t believe they deleted your posts; but maybe your words had more effect than you realize. It would be interesting to see what happens if you respond entirely with Scripture.
Peace,
Anna

As I said, it was truly shocking to see some of the stuff written there and the behavior that is openly tolerated (nay, encouraged) in that Forum.
I hope the founders made enough money in the process to be able to retire and fade into the sunset. They have clearly done enough HARM already …
P.S. Just for kicks, I’m going to take a peak at how they deal with our Orthodox brothers and sisters! They’ve reserved a separate sub-forum for that purpose.*
ByzCathCantor,
Be careful. It’s pretty toxic over there.
