It truly is mind blowing that He would do that. But what if He went even further!?!
What if God actually didn’t leave us orphans, didn’t leave us with a book and say, “Here you go, make sure you are able to understand all the little nuances of ancient languages and make sure you spend your entire life on this book, and then you can understand what I actually meant.” What if instead, He left us with an authoritative institution, so we can know what is the truth and be truly set free, and not have to rely on ourselves and our knowledge of ancient languages. If the stakes are so high, which they are, our eternal salvation depends on knowing the Truth, why would He give us such a difficult system? Where only a few people who can read and who have enough free time to devote their lives to deciphering the Scriptures, have access to the truth that sets one free? What if there was something more stable and accessible to all people in every nation, race, time and place?
What if He meant us to be joined together as One Body?(1 Cor 12) What if that body was his Church? (Eph 1:23)
What if that Church had the authority to forgive sins in his name? (Jn 20:20-23) What if that
Church was actually the pillar and foundation of the truth?(1 Tim 3:15) What if God gave us a hierarchy made up of apostles and prophets and teachers, guiding us? So that we are no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine.(Eph 4:11-14) What if, He was present in the Eucharist!? (Jn 6:54-56, 1 Cor 11) And now we can receive and be joined to the Creator of the entire universe in a way the OT prophets only dreamed of!
What if he REALLY left us all this?!? What if when He said the gates of hell would not prevail against this Church, he meant it. (Mt 16:18) What if that Church was still around today? Wouldn’t you want any of that? I do, which is why I am Catholic. It’s so freeing and awesome. I don’t have to guess and wonder why twenty different denominations reading the same scripture passage come up with twenty different interpretations. I can know the answer, because He left me a way to know for sure.
This system meets every need of the human person! We are not made to be solitary, every man for himself. He made us social beings, where we need one another. Wouldn’t it make sense that He would set up a system that would promote that part of us that He himself willed? Not undermine it, which is ultimately what Sola Scriptura does, it makes every man his own authority. That doesn’t fit with everything God did in the past.
You are correct, this has nothing to do with denominationalism, it’s about Truth. If God took the trouble to set up a Church, He must know what He’s doing. I’d personally rather stick with the system He set up.

He’s a LOT smarter than me.
I know you’re probably thinking, that’s a lot of what ifs. I’m convinced it’s true, it fits with everything we see in the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and what we see throughout the history of Christianity. You may not believe it, but it’s worth considering and taking a second look, is it not? I’m not saying for you to become Catholic, just consider maybe God really did leave us a foundation of truth, which the Bible itself testifies is not the scriptures alone, but the Church.
