Whats the Protestant response to the Apostles?

That question and what do they think of apostolic succession? What did the early fathers teach? Is there a web site?

They honor and revere the apostles, but not as fervently as catholics. They, in general, do not believe in apostolic succession. Unfortuately, they do not know who the apostolic fathers were, in most cases. I’m not kidding about this-I’m a lifelong presbyterian, and I know. The ignorance of the apostolic fathers really bothers me, but its their choice, I guess. Its really not sinful-just ignorant…Roanoker

I was a Methodist before converting and I had never heard of the early Church Fathers.

Evangelical Protestants do not accept the doctrine of apostolic succession because they believe it is an improper interpretation of the Scriptures, from which they derive all of their doctrines. (Tradition is man-made, therefore not acceptd as authoritative by evangelical Protestants.)

While I was evangelical Protestant, I believed that Jesus gave ALL Christians authority, not just a select group of men or women.
