Since this news broke months ago, and nothing was done, one has to conclude that the bishops are either complicit or totally ignorant. Either way, it’s more than just the CCHD that I have concerns with.

I feel safer giving my money directly to the charity of my choice, it will not go through the bishops’ anymore.

I had not been aware of the CCHD dorking with the Stations of the Cross until I watched this CIA report the other day. When I found out and verified it I was appaled. Let me say if the Bishops do not come out and “CONDEMN” the CCHD ACTIONS of messing with the stations of the cross, then I will probably leave the Catholic Church and never come back.

Here is my reasoning:

The Stations of the Cross are a “Lenten Worship”. I repeat the word "WORSHIP. The CCHD put right smack alongside this “WORSHIP” a recommendation that includes in this “WORSHIP” the “WORSHIP” of Pro-abortion, Pro-Gay, Pro-Socialist, and Earth Worshipping agencies. Frankly, for the life me, I can’t see how this isn’t the worship of the devil and his acts. I will not “WORSHIP” any of these agencies, I don’t care what the CCHD says, I won’t do it - period. If the Bishops let this continue, then what in the world does that say about our Catholic Church?

Who does the CCHD think they are, that they can recondition on of our most ancient forms of worship, and recondition it into an act of worship of their evil agenda, and the works of the devil. Furthermore if the Bishops remain silent on this matter - then it’s good bye.

Ya, I was waiting for someone else to notice. It was there this morning, but they scrubbed it sometime this afternoon.

Frankly, this isn’t the first time this has happened as far as scrubbing the site goes. It really looks to me like they throw this stuff out there to test the waters, so to speak. In other words an attempt to see what they can get away with. Because now they will just come out say - Aw man it isn’t there, you folks are displaying calumnous behavor (or however you spell it).

Well it isn’t going to work. Because if you took a look at that booklet, you would see that a team of people put a lot of work into that booklet, it wasn’t just spit out in a matter of minutes, it’s not a mistake but it is a deliberate act.

Truly ghastly.

There is something definately diabolical taking place here.

At the same time that CCHD site was scrubbed so was the “New Mexico Acequia Association” website. I had gone to their website, and their “Intro” had links to their preambles and constitutions and such. These were so obviously “Earth Worshipping” that I just couldn’t believe it. Well sir, if you had visited their website yesterday afternoon, well all those links were deleted and their preambles are hard to find now.

Earlier this year, there were stories linking CCHD and Acorn organizations. I did not donate to CCHD this year nor will I in the future. I wouldn’t leave the Church; however, there are much better organizations within the Church to give one’s money.

I share your outrage, but some faithful Bishops like Fabian Bruskewitz have their dioceses not contributing to CCHD. Just tithe to your local parish if it is faithful, do not put money for any collection for social justice. I am not running from my Church, but then again I am fortunate to belong to a fantastic parish. Please stay and fight.

I saw the presentation by Mr. Voris and this has disturbed both my wife and myself, but we are spreading to word to reduce the money pipeline. I have promoted the pro-life stance of the Church in a public fashion doing numerous NFP presentations and teaching classes. To hear to we have substantially funded ACORN and pro-abortion organizations is infuriating.

I am not even going to get into about that blasphemous Stations of the Cross.

At last count (earlier this month) seven bishop had come out and said that they would not hold collections for the CCHD. On top of that Bishop Vasa had expressed concern with what they were doing. So there are Bishops out there who are questioning it. Unfortunately there are Bishops like Morin who seem to respond to every single report with “that’s absolutely ridiculous.”

However, don’t let some idiotic moves by certain Bishops keep you from the Eucharist! Someone else’s mistake, even if it is huge, shouldn’t keep you away from Jesus and the sacraments! Just don’t donate to the CCHD (it’s only one collection a year, in November, so you don’t have to worry that weekly donations are going to it, and it’s fairly easy to avoid because it’s an announced second collection). And talk about what’s going on so there’s even more pressure on the Bishops to address the issue and either stop the fund altogether or start thoroughly vetting the “grantees” who are getting money.

I guess I tend to get caught up in expecting perfection from our leaders and shepherds. Perhaps it is a little much to expect. After all, I am a really big sinner, and I guess all of our leaders are too. Sometimes it is hard to accept that our Church leaders can make mistakes too.

So, no more tantrums on my part. I am staying. After all as St. Peter said, “to whom shall we go”?

I’m glad your staying. I know what you mean though, because this whole CCHD thing has been awfully disappointing. Initially I expected the USCCB to respond right away and do something… maybe that shows how naive I am as a convert! I mean, I was blogging about it back in November before the collection was taken, and it seems like very little has changed. More scandalous grantees keep coming out.

I just dream of living in one of those lucky diocese that have bishops that speak out about these sort of things. If I moved four hours north I’d be in one…

Perhaps this incident with the CCHD expecting us to Blaspheme against our Lord, will be the wake up call needed to get the USCCB to respond. Only time will tell.

Ya me too! I wrote my Bishop concerning this incident, hopefully many others are doing the same. Perhaps enough will contact him to generate a response.

Although I don’t expect a personal answer from him. I mean it has to get by his secretaries etc… And who knows how many people he has to respond to.

I talked to one of our priests in the hopes to get them to explain about this to the parish. Our parish Priests are very faithful and obedient and the collection for CCHD comes from their superiors. We will see where this goes, I am spreading the world.

Don’t recommend that. However bad the scandals become, we must not become like the Protestants. However bad the scandals become, the Church is still THE Church. Do as the Church says, not as the Church does.

Anyways, yeah. This is all bad stuff. I saw that video from realcatholictv. That’s very bad. I will make sure my family does not give to the CCHD funding.
