Dr. Bombay:
Pardon me. The correct word was “mince.” :tiphat:
Prance, mince, it’s all the same to me. 😉 Bottom line for me, we should get rid of all the EMHC and go back to having the priest distribute Communion. So what if it takes a little longer? People can practice the virtue of patience while they are in line.

I am not in favor of girl altar boys… and I have told I have a very big head
My granddaughter is and Altar Girl, not an Altar boy!!! And as far as having a big head goes…one could still be “small” in their thinking…

I have a fat head too and I don’t like girl altar boys either.

All those centuries of Tradition were just so much small-mindedness. Thank God we’ve stumbled into the benighted 21st Century and are able to so easily discard the past. 👍

My grandson is also a wonderful Altar boy and is a very holy nine year old boy with a “big mind.” and a “big head”…one that might answer “The Call” someday if it’s God’s will and his poor old grandma’s prayers are heard!!!

After all this time, and reading so many of your posts (and agreeing with the vast majority), I know you did not mean to imply you were praying for your grandson to be a priest… but praying for your grandson to answer God’s call whatever His call may be.:yup:

Reread it…

She is praying that he will answer God’s call.
A Grandma is allowed to pray that her Grandson becomes a priest, God willing.

Nice…You managed to insult one of the nicest people on the forums. Could you manage to read a bit slower and holster that verbal gun, before injuring someone, especially someone who is quite a nice lady, and very much prays for Gods Will in all things?

Well, I haven’t seen any prancing, but I have seen strutting.
I have noted many seemingly untrained EMHCs who don’t know what they are doing (or they are just plain stupid). Not sure why pastors don’t insure proper training and catechesis prior to these folks being commissioned. Still, I have never seen pracing or strutting–that sounds like more of a deliberate and thought out action.

Okay, so I have re-read and re-read. Nothing was intended to be insulting.

I supported a grandma’s “right” (and a Grandpa like me too) to pray that family will answer God’s calling.

In defenses of Annunciata, I **supported **her statement, and clarified that I felt she was praying for her grandson to answer God’s call … and clarifying that I knew - from her many previous posts - that she was **not **praying that **her **will be imposed on her grandson.

As for how it ties into this particular thread… it happens that we don’t agree. I don’t agree that EMHC, readers, ladies in the sacuary etc are callings in the sense that vocations are. But at this time, I am confident that B16 will have some (name removed by moderator)ut on lots of things litergical. Let’s wait and see.

Annunciata… if I offended you… I apologize… you have read lots of my posts too… so I think you “know” me better.

Someone should do a study to see the relative level of contributions from the offering when altar boys serve versus when altar girls serve.

I think altar girls would be nice at a Tridentine Latin Mass. Especially a Solemn High Mass. :clapping:

I have to add that MrS is ALSO one of the nicest posters here. Unlike me, someone from the “Most Annoying Poster” awards, MrS has tons of tact and empathy.

Everyone, like me, who is working on humility would do well to read his posts too.

Hi Mr S,
Did I ever tell you how much I love your beautiful Italian heart! Yes I know you well and have great respect for you…
Please forgive an overly sensitive Granny…this grandson I speak of was not supposed to live beyond 4 years old w/ the serious illness he had.
That said, my grandddaughter became an altar server to encourage him to serve as he was a little timid…Her’s was an act of kindness…she isn’t trying to be anything but a good sister.
FORGIVEN!!! Now forgive me too…:o

Well, not really but I try…
St. Josemaria is a saint I do not know about but I will find out.
Things are strange in my extended family and we need all the help we can get.

I’ll add you and your family to my prayers…
Here is an interesting site on St. Josemaria Escriva

Nothing is wrong, this is approved by the Church. Let them serve.
