After prayer I have discerned that God is calling me to marriage. For so many years I was always looking for someone, always always. And now, I’ve finally come to peace that my timing is not God’s. I finally accept that I need to work on several things with regards to virtue before I expect to meet the husband for whom I have kept high standards. I’m at so much peace with where I am in my present moment. I cannot believe it. I really cannot. I’ve never felt this way. Truly happy with what and who I am. And I don’t feel the need to look for anyone anymore. I entrust it to God. It can only be Grace. And for that I thank you Lord.

Fabulous! Start keeping a journal. When the days come that aren’t so great, or you feel yourself faltering or getting discouraged, it will be helpful to be able to read about those times when your will and His Will were in perfect accord.

That’s so great! :clapping:
I heard something not long ago…went something like this…“Thankfully, God’s timing is slower than mine.” (because we are such impulsive–have to have everything right now–human beings):o

You have been given such abundant grace–it really shows through!

God bless!!

LSK thank you for that idea! Writing this down will surely help me remember if ever I falter.

Whatevergirl. Thank you so much for sharing my joy!! And wow, that quote describes me exactly…impulsive!

Why does this thread, by ***“unworthy”, ***begin with the phrase, "What’s wrong with me . . . "?

First “Unworthy” I am happy for you, the “peace which passes all understanding” is always precious, especially if it follows a time of lack of peace or even more of tumult.

Marietta, I too wonder why “Unworthy” started the thread with “What’s wrong with me?” and would be interested to know why, if “Unworthy” feels okay about sharing why with us.

A trio of suggestions - after a time of turmoil, concern etc where our emotions are all over the place, feeling at peace can feel strange especially if it has been a long time.

Maybe too, if “Unworthy” has been looking for her future husband for awhile and feeling anxious about finding him, not doing so may feel as if something is wrong.

Also it may feel wrong/strange after being confirming she is called to marriage not to be doing anything active to find a husband.

Nothing wrong being at peace. I’m more and more fine with being single myself and my relations with women improve as I get over this and over my past relationships. I’m not as sure what my vocation is as you are, but for some reason I think I’m in the right place. I’m myself. Something I haven’t really been able to say for a long time. I can work. I carry myself with more dignity. I’m not desperate (well, not normally), I don’t hold on to clues. What’s not to like? If I meet a girl with whom to share life, fine, but I’ll know what I’m giving up. I can realise what I need - not any person with whom it will work somehow, but a genuine strong love with a lot of companionship and devotion - and stick to it. If it doesn’t happen, then I will have had wonderful friendships, even some wonderful romantic events and attachments which haven’t led to a permanent relationship but maybe haven’t been supposed to. My life will have been whole.

🙂 Oh no no I don’t mean anything’s wrong with it! I was being sarcastic to draw attention to the thread; particularly I was playing on the misconception that being single is a sad state AND placed it beside the experience of peace–a contradiction that draws your attention because certainly peace is never beside something upsetting or sad! (wow I’m so verbose but do you get what I mean?)
Anyway, if sarcasm is aside, what I really do mean is: “What’s right with me–I’m so at peace with being single” 🙂
Thanks all.

It’s great that your at peace with things as they are. I’m still trying to get there myself. In my case it’s a curvy road with lots of bumps along the way. I’m almost there though. Not that I’ve given up looking but I’m kind on cruise control right now. I hoping GOD will lead me where I need to go. 👍
