What’s Wrong With This Picture???
By Christopher LaRock
A man commits a string of brutal murders. His victims are tortured to death slowly and even seasoned detectives are unnerved by the brutality of the crimes. He is finally caught and taken into custody by the authorities.
The man, in spite of his horrendous crimes, is allowed the due process of law. A defense lawyer is supplied at taxpayer expense because the man cannot afford to hire his own. A trial is held and a jury of his peers is assembled. In spite of the overwhelming evidence against the man, the burden of proof rests with the prosecution. They have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused is indeed guilty of the crimes he is charged with. The constitution affords the man every opportunity for fairness and the right to defend himself.
The evidence is presented and the jury takes very little time in convicting the man of the brutal murders. He shows no remorse as the verdict is read out loud in the courtroom. The man is sentenced to death, but the legal system allows him to appeal his case several times in the hope of getting his death sentence reduced to a life sentence. Several years go by and all of his appeals are rejected. An execution date is set and the man lives out his last days in a comfortable prison cell at taxpayer expense. He authors several books detailing the crimes he has committed and he becomes quite wealthy from the book sales.
The day of his execution finally arrives and the man is lead out of his cell and taken into the execution chamber. Every step is taken to ensure that the man’s death is as quick and painless as possible. He receives a lethal injection and simply closes his eyes and dies peacefully, strapped to the medical table.
A funeral is held and an obituary is published for the man. In spite of his crimes, several people attend his funeral to mourn his death. A beautiful tombstone is erected for him over the spot where his body is buried.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town a woman in the latter stage of pregnancy enters an abortion clinic. The little boy in her womb has been sentenced to death. His only crime was being unplanned, unwanted, and unloved. He has no chance for an appeal and a defense attorney isn’t assigned to help him. His case was decided decades before he was even conceived when the Supreme Court legalized abortion.
The executioner has no mercy and does his work quickly. He injects a highly potent saline salt solution into the embryonic sac containing the little boy. The solution enters his body and begins to roast him alive in his mother’s womb. The pain is unbearable as he lingers for several hours. His mother can feel him thrashing around in agony, but gives it no thought as she casually thumbs through a magazine in the waiting room of the abortion clinic.
After several hours of unspeakable pain, the baby boy finally dies. The abortionist extracts his dead body from his mother’s womb. The look of agony is still frozen on his little face. His flesh and insides are blackened by the saline salt solution that was used to murder him. He is placed into a bag and tossed into a dumpster like a piece of trash where he joins all of the other children that had been killed in the clinic that day.
No funeral service is ever held for him, no obituary is ever printed, nobody shows up to mourn his death, no tombstone erected, and he is quickly forgotten.
