Now, this is my absolute favorite one. It was done by William Kurelek and is entitled The Donkey Carrying God. You can find it at this website:

The following was written by Catherine Doherty and can be found on the inside of the card:

"The donkey that carried Our Lady to Bethlehem took another form in my thoughts.

For he carried the Word–

a dumb animal, carrying a Virgin who carried God–

and so he was the carrier of God too. His bells were the first church bells,

for Mary was the first Church, the first tabernacle of Christ."

It’s getting late. To all a good night! 😛 (I hope you enjoy my images and I look forward to seeing yours too.)

Those are beautiful!

Although, I have to say I really appreciate the first one. Because if I had ridden on a donkey, and had been up all night giving birth, I would have that look on my face when visitors came too. lol

*Hopefully someone will find that funny, and not offensive. *

When visiting the Crysler Museum in Norfolk, VA - this painting of an Angel appearing to the Shepherds took my breath away:

www2.chrysler.org/collections/largeimage.asp?num=0

if that doesn’t work, try this: www2.chrysler.org/collections/OBJECT_edit.asp?id=23838&page=1

I stood there, and tears came to my eyes -

It is a huge canvas, and really should be seen in all of it’s grand scale.
Wow, that’s beautiful. Here are links directly to the painting:
