Orthodoxy, by far. I feel just at home at our local Orthodox mission as I do at our EC parish. I may even make the switch someday…

I suppose because it is not a denomination…
Perhaps the question would have been better posed as “communion”, rather than “denomination” for this reason.

I would say, myself, Catholic or the more Anglo-Catholic portions of Anglicanism. There are many things in Orthodoxy I’m fond of, as well.

I am unable to distinguish between Orthodoxy and Catholicism. the Methodists always have the best strawberries.

peace

I voted Orthodox. But I don’t really know much about it. But I know that it is closest to the Latin Rite, which is what I am.

United Church of Christ, Episcopal, Disciples of Christ because they are among the more open ones today, allowing various Christian children of God to walk their faith journeys within. Even if all do not agree on every dotted “i” and crossed “t”. I believe because Christians have a unity in Him Whom can break down walls.

If I were not so Christian, Unitarian Universalism I believe has a lot going for it on social justice issues and openness, but I am more Christian than they are on the whole.

The Episcopalians are also united in basic forms of worship set in the Book of Common Prayer from my understanding.

The Disciples actually as long as one has been baptized somewhere, only require a profession of Christ Lord and Savior.

But I couldn’t vote in the poll though because I have more than one so I couldn’t just vote Episcopalian. And I also am not certain for instance if the United Church of Christ or Disciples of Christ are fully Calvinistic. I don’t think from what I can gather. And none of the options seemed to fit them.

God bless all His children who walk in faith along their lifelong journeys in search of and with the hope of reaching and basking eternally in the presence of the ultimate Truth. Peace.

Yes but neither is Orthodoxy ;).

You are so right…I tried to say that when I said about both Catholciism and Orthodoxy are the two lungs of the Church. Of course Blessed John Paul 2 said it so much better…

AHHH! I voted Methodist, but just saw Orthodoxy at the last minute; might’ve picked Orthodoxy.

In any case, I will always respect Methodism, the church of my childhood. 🙂 Only two of you lot voted for it?

Huh? I do not remember good strawberries in our Methodist church, but I will believe you. 🙂

Indeed, the theological differences between Orthodoxy and Catholicism for the layperson seem mostly dry semantics, though I recognise and am exploring them…

In some cases yes, but I feel in other cases they are deeper than it seems.

Concerning salvation, original sin, and on scholasticism, the differences seem rather large.

I voted Methodist because everyone can participate in their Lord’s Evening Meal, they revived the necessity of good works when they started in England, they played a major role in the abolition of slavery in England because of their understanding of equality, and many Methodists were great trade unionists. Methodist College is a great school in my part of the world and I’m really impressed with it. I’m was also really impressed by a Methodist lady who worked as a midwife in Uganda, and I’ve encountered many Methodists on the forums here who are reasonable and charitable.

Don’t agree with them, but have a lot of time for them.

I like denominations that allow everyone who feels so called to do so, to participate in what the denomination considers a meal iwith the Lord.
