I’ve seen discussions about chaplets but I wondered what your favorite novena is. There are, of course, many - to Our Lord, Our Lady and the saints…some of them known as efficiacious and powerful.

My Mom was very devoted to the Infant of Prague. His statue is in every room of the house, and Mom used to give His statue image as gifts to people who didn’t have one.

But the Childlike Novena, as it is called, to the Infant Jesus of Prague was one that never failed for Mom. It’s a one-day, nine-hour novena (once every hour at the same time every hour). Mom often got the answer to her prayers before the Novena was finished.

Do you have a favorite one?

My church just finished up the nine week solemn Novena of the Miraculous Medal…my favorite.

  • Novena to Sacred Heart of Jesus
  • Novena to the Holy Spirit
  • Novena for the Holy Souls
I have prayed the others, but the three are the ones I pray year round.

Novena to the Holy Spirit for the Seven Gifts. This is the first novena my wife and I did before Pentecost one year. I believe it is the first and oldest novena. The results are beyond words. Tim

Novena to the Holy Spirit, and the Divine Mercy novena, too.

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage to the Most Loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.

I love St Joseph, and that’s a beautiful prayer as well - sometimes I’ve been known to say it just for the heck of it (not as a novena)

I’ve always loved that one, too. I can just picture Baby Jesus sitting on St. Joseph’s lap, the two of them content, all warm and snuggly. I don’t mean that to sound sacreligious, it’s just a beautiful image I get in my head when I read that novena. 🙂

I love the above novena, the one to The Sacred Heart and the one to St. Jude.

Divine Mercy Chaplet Novena.

I can’t wait until after Easter when my parish has it! 😃

Divine Mercy Novena
The Weekly Mother of Perpetual Help Novena
St. Anne’s Novena (I always enjoy going to the Solemn Novena)

Uh, I’ve always wanted to start a novena, but I don’t know any. Does anyone have any links? I know I just missed the Christmas Novena that begins on St.Andrew’s Day, by two days (darn it! ).

St. Therese the little Flower, Sacred Heart, St. Philomena, for the poor souls, St. Jude, St. Anthony, St. Anne, Divine Mercy, 54 day Rosary novena

Thanks for the reminder ! I hadn’t said that prayer in AGES - and remember it so well…how beautiful it is. And I notice you are also a Padre Pio devotee…
I forgot that St. Anthony has always been a favorite of mine, and there were times when I’d say the thirteen Tuesday novena.

My favourite Novena is the Never Fail Novena. The exact novena words are:

NEVER FAIL NOVENA

May the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised, adored and glorified throughout the whole world now and forever.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for me. St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, pray for me. St. Jude, Patron of Hopeless Cases, pray for me and grant this
favor I ask.
(Say this prayer 9 times a day and for 9 consecutive days and publish on or after the ninth day.)
Your request will be granted.

This novena helped me find a very good job. Whenever I use it I surely get a reply. I have just finished praying another one today. Try it . It works
