Facebook is something I have always avoided like the plague. I just find it impersonal and if I don’t have the time to pick up a phone and call someone to chat, they just aren’t that important to me and not worth keeping in touch with.

With that said and done, years ago a cousin asked me to join. I joined with a fake last name and after a few days just decided it was not for me.

Well, I am bored tonight so I singed in with my fake name and started looking a bunch of people up. And I must admit, it has left me depressed. Everyone is posting pictures that make them look like they have a great life and I started to feel small. Or other people have aged so much over the years, I started feeling superior which in the end is like chocolate. A fun thing in the moment but a horrible sugar crash after.

So, if people could share how they feel about FaceBook, I would appreciate it

Never ever. For me. I have seen to much drama, strife and even marriages end. Anytime someone is having a beef with someone else it seems to stem from facebook.

Honestly, I don’t understand the attraction of facebook. Even if someone restricts what the general public can see, facebook still has everything you posted and every picture on it. So, why would you want facebook to have all that information and keep it? Plus, I would rather talk to someone in person or over the phone so we could have a dynamic conversation.

With family and friends dispersed all around the world, I enjoy Facebook.

Same here.

I have family and friends all over, and I would rarely have any idea what is going on with some of them if not for Facebook. It’s helped me reconnect with a number of friends from years ago, and touch base with cousins who live halfway around the world.

I am very choosy about what I allow to show up on my page, block any negative people, and ignore requests for games.

Avoid Facebook. There isn’t much else to say about this topic. I had it once for several years. I don’t miss it at all.

I enjoy Facebook for the recipes, the funny memes, the occasional video, following Bishop Fulton Sheen’s cause, reading the Padre Pio page, the Priests for Life page, etc.

I DON’T like the friends of mine who have an ax to grind about politics, gay marriage, the people who post what they ate for breakfast (really?) and the endless pictures of someone’s baby doing everything cute, including potty training. Really. I had to tell that mama that kiddie porn is not cute.

So…it’s what you make of it. I’m not addicted to it. Sometimes I don’t sign in for days. I seldom post…I kind of just look around.

Much like TV, you can pick and choose what you view.
If it shut down tomorrow, it wouldn’t affect me in any way.

I started mine because I have an online business. It was a way to get my product seen on the internet by a large audience. It eventually worked more into a personal page for me. It has become really negative. I have given it up for Lent (among other things 🙂 ) . I did this because I was spending more time than needed checking the newsfeed and reading stupid meme’s and links. Very negative politically too. I decided that after Lent I will probably give it up altogether. I could use the time better.

Saying that, I do know a lot of people that like FB and have positive experiences so 🤷

Personally, I love it.

I haven’t encountered any drama or anything like that. But, I also don’t have thousands of Facebook friends like some other people do. My Facebook friends are my real life friends. They matter to me. While many of them are in my home state, it allows us to stay connected in a manner different that talking on the telephone. They see my accomplishments, they see my kids growing, they hear the tidbits about my day…and I get these things from them also. Plus it’s a GREAT way for my mom to keep tabs on me from two states away. 😉

Facebook is a plot from Hades, IMNAAHO.

I have an account, because family urged me to get it. But I for one have no desire to contact people from my high school years (didn’t much like them then!) or to splash details of my life all over the webs.

And I finally got so sick of getting notifications every time an acquaintance went on a trip, or to a party or bar, that I deleted the app.

IMNAAHO, naturally.

ICXC NIKA.

I got on facebook along with my sister to play some games with relatives in other states. After some time we realized that it was just to easy for “friends” to recommend “friends” that we knew nothing about and that ultimately led to some folks being introduced that I would rather never know.

We eventually stopped using facebook. It is not a place to evaluate yourself or your apparent success/failure on in regard to others. Let it go and find other ways to stay in touch with the folks you know well. It is just not worth the trouble.

We also started having trouble with getting strange emails and unwanted solicitations. Just not that great in the long run.

Same here… everyone who is a Facebook friend of mine is a relative or a real-life friend of mine. I live away from home and I’ve lived in many areas around the world and it’s been great for keeping in touch. Especially with people who live in different time zones. We exchange pictures of our kids, share events in our lives, etc. Plus, unlike my e-mail which is so full of spam from registering for forums, Amazon, stores who send coupons, the school, etc, and whatnot… Facebook messages are real e-mails from real people (including the private messages which are like e-mails). I don’t get spam.

I am not on Facebook. For boredom, Trip Advisor forums, which I got hooked on a few years ago, is a good cure. There are other travel forums, but that is probably the most well known. If you have a favorite city you like to visit you can start off by going to the forum for that city and reading posts to get a feel for what travelers usually ask and then join in by posting advice or tips. This works well for favorite places to visit, like attractions, national parks, museums. But you have to go to the city forum or state forum (or country/region) where they are located. It is also interesting just to pick a place and read the forum, especially if the place is in the news. It is interesting to see how travelers are handling unusual circumstances.

I like travel forums because they stick to the topic of the place, give tips, give you insight into how others think about someplace you visited, and you learn things. No politics, negativity, etc.

I think about starting a Facebook account just to share photos and video, but I would rather not at this time.

I wish I had more Catholic friends on Facebook, but it’s okay, I would only get more “Likes” but instead I get a little persecution…but I grin and bare it, because I know what I’m doing is good. All I post are uplifting, Catholic posts. I posted the life of St. Francis of Assissi full movie (YouTube) last night, and talked of Michael Deangelo’s Pieta with photos of the sculpture, and a beautiful photo of our Blessed Mother and Child. I also posted St. Michael’s Photo and Prayer, reminding everyone to pray for peace.

Everyday I post one or two interesting Catholic posts, sometimes the Saint of the Day, or Bishop Sheen’s quotes, or Mother Angelica’s. I have really turned my FB into a year of Evangelizing - with so many of my relatives who are either Atheist, Agnostic or protestant, not one has unfriended me yet! LOL but sometimes on their own page I see them “scream” 🙂 It’s good for the soul, to see a little bit of God every day.

I had trepidations, but started on it a few months ago to stay in touch with family in other states. I quickly saw it as a way to try to help family and friends stay focused on their faith. I post scripture passages and revelant reflections for the seasons, feast days and solemnities. I even started an alternate page for discussing different faiths and sharing ideas. The response to all my evangelizing has told me pretty much where each of my friends and family stand and I have really learned, from some, about things like Charismatic Renewal and the distinctness of Catholicism among the other forms of Christianity, which has served to strengthen my faith in my Church. I even have one friend, who is Assembly of God, thinking about checking out Catholicism. She is going to participate in Lenten fasting.
Sure, there is alot of negative and evil rolling around that you have to ignore, but there is alot of positive as well. Amazingly, I recently found some family members that I had lost track of, and found them to be faithful Christians. There can be good hiding in every corner of our world. You just have to try to find it and coax it out.🙂

I don’t need it & don’t want it.

I use it all the time. My husband’s family is out of state and it’s the best way to show off baby pictures.

Facebook has been a blessing to me. I started mine when my youngest son was deployed the first time in 2002. Phone call were usually not allowed, but we could talk ‘real’ time on Facebook, leave messages and post pictures. It is a great way to keep in touch. He’s up for his 3rd overseas deployment later this year, while my oldest son is deploying to Afghanistan for the second time in April. I use Facebook all the time to stay in contact with my family, especially my grandchildren.
