Some of you may be wondering why I’m asking this. I did when I was a stupid kid (10 - 11 yrs old) and did not know any better.
My opinion of ANY type of foretelling of the future is that it is demonic. It goes against our trust and dependency on the Lord, and instead we turn to the occult. When we play in Satan’s sandbox, no matter how inoccuous it appears, we will get sand in our shoes!!

Well, at least Obama hasn’t gone to this New Age occultist. No one has the right to try to “read” anyone’s palm against their will. I see this as just a futile attempt from an occultist to get “recognized” and generate more business for themselves from other people foolish enough to then go to this palmist.

If it were nothing but silly superstition, it wouldn’t be so roundly condemned in the Word. It’s much worse than superstition. It’s playing with spiritual napalm (recall that there’s no way to quench the burning from napalm—the occult is a similar unquenchable spiritual erysipelas).

If you want to see what happens to a nation that flouts these injunctions, look at Nazi Germany: they were heavily into the occult; that’s where they derived their (albeit shortlived) power, and their ability to commit ghastly horrors (their political brethren, the Marxists, were mirror images; Marx was a Satan worshipper).

Any sort of fortune telling, whether fake or real, is a violation of the First Commandment. As you say, “the real thing” is demonic. The fallen angels are only too happy to oblige foolish individuals who want to bypass the laws of nature.
A fool who places his trust in palmistry may well end up getting his fingers burnt, along with his palm and the rest of his body…forever!

A load of bull, that’s what it is. How so many people are easily fooled into the superstition that you’re entire person is governed by a bunch of lines on your hand is beyond me.

While I don’t think it’s necessarily evil or demonic, I do think it’s inappropriately crossing the boundaries between ourselves and God. We already abuse our control over the world. If we were meant to know and control the future, we would know without palm reading, and most likely abuse that access too.

Where I do not agree, is that divination in general or palmistry in particular, are necessarily ‘demonic’ or ‘evil’ in intent.
