I’m glad Susan’s book was helpful to you. I get a little annoyed sometimes that she has made a bit of a cottage industry out of a practice that was around for a long time, but I then remind myself that she is helping evangelize by informing people about it who otherwise don’t know, and so many people are so happy to find out they can help their loved ones.

I myself got into it during the Year of Mercy when I learned you get plenaries just by walking through a Door of Mercy. I went through Doors of Mercy all over the world and gave the indulgences (which probably weren’t very well earned because I wasn’t certain of all the “rules” then, but hopefully God counted them anyway) to relatives and friends. But the Year ended and the doors went away, so I had to find other ways to earn the plenaries. There are so many ways.

Don’t forget you can get the plenary for the Feast of Christ the King today by saying the Act of Dedication of the Human Race in public (like in church ). It’s Grant No. 2 under Grants. I need to make a thread about that.

I don’t know what you mean by “cottage indusry?” Anyway, it is true that her book has been helpful, for she was relating a lot of things that our saints understood about Purgatory. One mention was helpful from St. Faustina, where Susan quoted #274 from her Diary.
I sometimes talk too much. A thing could be settled in one or two words, and as for me, I take too much time about it. But Jesus wants me to use that time to say some short indulgenced prayers for the souls in purgatory.
This was helpful, for I was not in the habit of using ejaculations for the Holy Souls. A great idea.

Imagine a saint who ‘talks too much.’ She is human, huh? 🤣

Another brief question, if someone can answer. I have been viewing and praying the Holy Hour for Healing and Justice on Sunday evenings on EWTN. After the rosary is finished, Father offers the prayers for the intention of the Holy Father, “to gain the plenary indulgence.”
Is this just for those who are in attendance in their chapel and are able to obtain the indulgence, or does it also apply to those viewing and participating by TV at home? I have left this in God’s hands, but was wondering if passive attendance qualifies?
17. PRAYERS TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
§1 A plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful who
1° devoutly recite the Marian rosary in a church or oratory, or in a family, a religious community, or an association of the faithful, and in general when several of the faithful gather for some honest purpose;
2° devoutly join in the recitation of the rosary while it is being recited by the Supreme Pontiff and broadcast live by radio or television. In other circumstances, the indulgence will be partial.

Your post might be served better in apologetics. Otherwise, it will derail this one with folks trying to counsel you.

Ah yes of course, thanks for the tip. Pop on over if you want and perhaps you could help counsel me.
