When a confession feels incomplete, what does one do?

I’ve searched the forums and don’t seem to find anything on this subject.

Are there times when confession is incomplete or should be revisited, such as when you know that you did not make a good examination of conscience and then found something significant that you feel should have been acknowledged, or even discussed? If that significant something is a mortal sin, do I have any business receiving communion. At the same time, what are common ways that a penitent can invalidate a confession?
 
Dear Lux,

The sins you forgot to confess are forgiven, so you may receive Holy Communion. But the next time you go to Confession, mention them because you owe Him the humble acknowledgement. His hand is certainly on you. From now keep focused on His passion and His love for you.
