When and how does a catholic receive the Holy Ghost?

Actually I didn’t feel anything at all as I got older, nothing nada, ziltch, When I accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, that was when I started to become aware of something happening to me.

Baptism, as baby, washed away your OS only, u had no PS then. Later, u had much PS, and confession/repentance was needed. Once you were fully graced, all PS removed, and aware of HS (for first time). This was your enlightenment/illumination, by HS…when you first perceived indwelling of the Lord, in a ‘personal, experiential’ way. At least, thats what I perceive you as trying to express.

But, you must realize that the Indwelling of HS can be lost by the Christian, when they grieve the HS. Grieved to point that we don’t even have guilt about mortal sins. In such a case one has gone from Hot, to lukewarm ( see Rev. 2:4-5 & Rev. 3:15-17 ).

Receipt of the HS is not a one-&-done event. We are continually in need of confession, repenting, and receiving grace and filling of HS. Making Mass weekly, and receipt of Eucharist is crucial to our ability to persevere.

Thank you very much for that. See I didn’t understand (nor did I think alot of people) that Baptism gets rid of the OS only. I only knew that before I came back to God I was the same way as the Non-Saved, I thought only about worldly things, not cared about heavenly things at all, couldn’t feel a wink of sin. Now that I came back I now only care about heavenly things, and nothing for earthly things. I can actually feel what sin is. but it doesn’t mean that I was free from the demons that I collected along the way. Which even to this day I’m still cleaning out. I get what your saying. Thank you.

Now as far as these gifts…

If I miss several weeks of making Mass, I quickly feel the effects of world & sin returning, and loss of Indwelling of God’s spirit. After experiencing this 3-4 X’s…and needing to make confession with Priest,…I’m now determined never to miss another Mass & Eucharist.

Regular receipt of the Eucharist is key. W/O it, we are satan’s mark.
 
That does bring me up to another question. If we are given the gifts and they become manafested at once, are they not ment to be used as soon as they manafest? I know that God sets certain gifts to be used at a certain time, but if he gives the gift of say healing, right at that time when you recieve the HS, and you have the manafestation of the gift, does it not mean that it’s used for that time like right now?
 
Be aware Baptism does remove ALL types sin present… when one is Baptized. But, in Infant Baptism, you didn’t yet have any PS.

Well, that brings up a question for you. Who are the current well known healers for Catholicism ? We all know the Protestant ones …those on TV, some of whom are frauds.

Right. I’m not aware of any modern day Catholic faith healers, sanctioned by the Vatican. I have been told of a few local, Catholic healing services…back several decades ago.

Currently, Catholics believe God still performs miracle healings, on private ( off TV) level, via prayers to saints & those being considered for sainthood.
