When are our lenten sacrifices ok to end?

I’m sure this has probably been covered before so I am sorry if this is a repeat but I have always been somewhat confused as to when it is ok to end and lenten sacrifices we may have made? Just for a simple example, let’s pretend if one gave up candy when is it ok to have a piece of candy again? Is it when lent ends or not until Easter itself?
 
Since the penances are voluntary, they do not bind under pain of sin nor are they governed by canon law like Friday abstinence or fasting laws. You can do whatever you want without worrying about it being “ok” or “not ok”.

Practically speaking, I think it would make sense on a devotional level to wait until Easter morning.
 
For some reason - probably because it is what my mother enforced 😃 - if you give up candy for Lent, you can’t have any until Easter Sunday after Mass.

If you say gave up wine or smoking, you can have wine with dinner on Holy Saturday and lit your pipe afterwards (at least according to my dad. Again :D)

Everyone else is on there own if they made any other Lenten promises. 😃 😃
 
I was always taught that you end the Lenten sacrifices when the vigil is over on Holy Saturday. If you don’t go to the vigil, I suppose you could assume you were safe by around midnight Easter morning.

But I don’t think there is any official rule. It is between you and God.

I usually end on Easter with my sacrifices,but make other sacrifices durning the year. Like extra praying ect.
 
Technically the Lenten season ends, when the Triduum begins, on HolyThursday evening with the Mass of the last Supper. The Triduum reaches it’s high point with Easter vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer on Easter Sunday. After which we enter “Ordinary Time.”
 
My understanding was that Lent ends with Easter Vigil. On Easter Sunday, we enter Easter time which I believe lasts until Pentecost. Then we enter Ordinary Time.
 
Normally, Easter Sunday (or immediately following Easter Vigil Mass).

I gave up coffee for Lent last year and this year. My parish usually offers coffee and hot cross buns after the Good Friday Stations of the Cross. I decided that quiet reflection on the Passion with a cup of joe would be an appropriate break in my chosen fast. Alas, I’ll miss out tomorrow, so my cup will wait for a couple more days.

Actually, that’s when we enter the Easter Season, which lasts until Pentecost. Then we return to Ordinary Time.
 
The liturgical season of Lent ended today but the tradition of lenten sacrifice ends at the Easter Vigil.

At the Gloria of the Easter Vigil.
 
Since it is a private devotion you can end it when you want to. My mother always ended it at noon on Holy Saturday. I don’t know if that was the custom then or if it was her own.

At my parish, you could easily break out a Snickers bar during the Gloria and still fulfill the communion fast. 10 baptisms, 21 receptions, and (therefore) 31 confirmations this year.
