When are we supposed to evangelize?

I am copying thread from “Family Life” because it died, and I still have questions.

I read with interest the recent thread about being forced to present gay pride materials. Almost every poster said “work is work” - no politics, no religion. This is a given and most that stay employed know this…so, when, where and who do we evangelize? And I have to ask, isn’t the work off-limits rule, like creating a safe base for Satan?

Follow-up questions I have- after posters explained it is by deed not word:
Is this the degree we are called to evangelize? I mean- I know we are to act based on our “station” but what does that mean? Any Church teaching? And how is their good behavior distinguished from being a good Jew, Muslim, Hindu?

Now. Be a mirror of Christ in all that you do. Assess your talents and use them.
 
Evangelize in every possible way, do everything you can with all the abilities God blessed you with [BIBLEDRB]romans 1:16[/BIBLEDRB]

St Francis is attributed with saying to his fellow monks something like “teach always, if necessary use words” . Even if this is not the correct quote and was not from St Francis I have taken this as my motto at work. I am the only Catholic in a so called non-denominational Christian book store. My goal has simply been by my living out my Catholic faith very obviously ( things like when we gather for prayer , I make the sign of the cross or offering explanations about what the rosary really is and how we got it, recommending people either by a Catholic bible, 1611 KJV or NIV PLUS 'the apocrypha- then we can have a conversation as to why) and gentle instruction when I see or hear errors about the Church’s teaching being told or believed by others. I invite people to mass especially for the Easter and Christmas vigils …even though no one comes. I pray , and tell people I am praying for them. I tell them what Jesus has done for me in my life.
This method has proven very fruitful even to the point where my non-Catholic boss will defend Catholics as Christians from attacks by customers who obviously believe we are not. Why does he do this ? because he knows I am Catholic AND I have a very personal and fruitful relationship with Jesus Christ.🙂 Thanks be to God.

God gives us ONLY to options: [IMO]

Either God IS IN CHARGE and DO trust Him

Or we are in charge and we don’t

I’m now retired BUT would have QUIT in a “heartbeat” any job that required me to do things that ARE contrary to God’s lwas and My personal beliefs and practices.

OF COURSE GOD WILL HOLD US RESPONSIBLE!:rolleyes:

In a work situation I avoid causing disruption; at the same time, as St. Peter says, “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” Most of my evangelization is done that way. Non-Cats will ask me questions about Catholicism, and I give them an answer, usually from the Bible.

BUT OUR WORDS WILL ONLY BE EFFECTIVE if they RELAY THE SAME MESSAME AS OUR LIVES:D

or WHEN GOD makes the opportunity clear; then with charity and clarity W/O argument:D

some one told me – well i “hope” people see Christ in me-- so i said what do you do that christ did – maybe Jesus Sends Out the Twelve

10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

because it’s easy to pray 4 some one and "not have anything happen–

when some one told me that they were praying for another-- i asked them – well what did God tell you?

oh well-- no edification-confort — every one can be “religiously nice”

that training is easily available
