I’ve stated this elsewhere, but I don’t think “they called us names first” is a valid defense for uncharitable behavior. I’m also not sure what you mean by this not being for the ‘young’ at heart, perhaps you mean “the faint of heart”? Or maybe it’s a idiom I just haven’t run across in the US in that context.

At any rate, your statement is not merely that these Protestants are wrong, but that they are deliberately and maliciously trying to cause people to fall away from God. It’s a terrible accusation that doesn’t stand up to scrutiny when you actually get to know these people (I’m sure there are exceptions, just as bad apples can be found among the Catholic faith).

If you want to debate the correctness of their teaching that’s one thing, but this broad slander of motive against your brothers and sisters is inaccurate and completely uncalled for.

Oh! I’m still learning English. Actually, I was just teasing Gottle there.🙂 That’s why I quote ‘young’ when I replied to you because what I really meant is … like you said, ‘faint at heart’.
Yes, many are good protestant people. I don’t disagree. But when it comes to teaching authority about faith and morals- nope. One or two teachings that go against the doctrines of the Catholic Church that they teach is tantamount to heresy. Thus, confusing and misleading the unlearned like me.
I never claim that all catholics are good. Or that the visible Church is made up of only good people. Far from it. As the Apostle Peter brought up different kinds of fishes when he drew his nets so is the Catholic Church. In the end the good ones will be chosen and the rejects be thrown out. If the Catholic Church is made up of only good people or profess that all her members are only good people I should be alarmed- it will not be the true church. We are called to conversion and perseverance.

I don’t like debates. Especially about the holy scriptures because the bible gives me understanding of my Catholic faith and upkeep of my morality. I enjoy reading…

Thank you and God bless…
