I am talking about artwork of characters in video games, movies, and anime, especially by Japanese and American companies. Your thoughts?

My standards are loose. The line that divides skimpy and stylish is just never in one place for me. All that matters now is either functionality or strong interaction with what a character represents.

I don’t really know what you’re asking here. I accept that it exists, and I accept it in the stories I watch/read/play, as long as it isn’t too obtrusive and doesn’t cause me to have any weird thoughts. To be honest, though, I can get pretty mad about it if it suddenly shows up in a series I considered “better than that”.

I dislike blatant fanservice. I really, really dislike it when it’s creepy or gets in the way of the story I’m trying to watch. Sadly, some degree of fanservice seems to be inescapable in most modern fiction. 😦 I just try to avoid the worst of it and not get too up in arms when it lands in the middle of something I like. 🤷

This problem is particularly common in anime, in my experience, although I don’t read any american comics, I do watch cartoons, but I assume that fanscervice gets toned down for american tv sets.

I tend to be with LostWanderer here, it’s a problem, one that I’m not going to be able to fix in my perceivable lifetime, and so long as it doesn’t get too intrusive or disrupt them, I can usually get past it, even if I do hate the “surprise” when it pops up in what was normally a good show.
