Thanks for ruining my thread misslollipops. Could you please leave this thread and go ‘save’ some people who give a care?

Ugh…

Anyway, to get back to the subject. I don’t care one ounce what our enemies say (protestants, atheists, etc) about anything. The question is… well, what is the question, and what is the answer?

I guess the real question here is the relationship between political and ecclesiastical power and what should it be in the modern age.

It shouldn’t.

IMO People of faith should 1. live out their faith to the very best of their ability, and 2. because of the diversity of our society, no one religion should ever be in power to dictate to everyone else.

I can think of no attempt at such a society which has not resulted in gross abuses. Not because God’s love is inadequate but because man is flawed and easily messes things up.

Personally, I think the title of this thread is incorrect and should have been “When did Religions become nonviolent?” because I don’t think for a second that there are many faiths (or lack thereof) of any stripe that have not mistakenly sought to use temporal power for their own ends. (and it continues to this day…)

Wow, that’s a pretty big dose of enlightenment tosh.

So what exactly is this neutral morality that society is supposed to be built on and where does it come from?!

What about Abortion and the various sick and twisted things that “diversity” encourages. Isn’t that an abuse.

Like I said, Jesus better come back soon or we’re screwed because most Catholics don’t know the difference between Catholic and Modernist (i.e., anti-religious, anti-Christian in particular and above all anti-Catholic) thought.
