Do we have proof that Elijah ever sinned agaisnt the lord?

I don’t recall any specific incidents, but we generally presume that humans sin unless we have revelation to the contrary.

How is it not traditional catholicism? Is elijah only considered a “jewish prophet” whom catholics cannot discuss?
I think the question is, why is it specifically relevant to the Traditional Catholicism board, which generally covers topics related to the Traditionalist movement, the Extraordinary Form of the Mass, and so forth?

Why do you ask?

Often, when folks ask this question, they’re attempting to poke holes in Church doctrine. After all, if Elijah never sinned, but was carried up to heaven, then it proves that original sin isn’t a hindrance to getting into heaven. But, on the other hand, if he did sin and still got to heaven, then it proves that we don’t need Jesus for salvation.

(These ‘proofs’ have serious problems – but, then again… why are you asking? 😉 )

Elijah was assumed directly into Heaven which means at that time at least he was sinless. We can know that much.
