What does tradition teach about when did Mary ascend into heaven? What are the earliest writings about this?
 
Dear E,

We do not believe that Mary ascended to heaven. Only Jesus ascended to heaven. We believe that Mary was assumed into heaven by her Son. This means that she was taken there. She did not go there by her own power.
