My husband and I were married a little while ago. He is both baptized and confirmed. I was neither at the time. At the time of our marriage, I was understanding that the marriage was not a sacrament for me (since I was not Catholic at the time) but it was for my husband. And now that I am baptized/confirmed Catholic, it then became a sacrament for me as well.

Someone was telling me that our marriage did not become a sacrament for my husband until I was baptized and confirmed. Which is true?

Thanks,

Hi

Your friend is correct. The marriage can only be a sacrament if BOTH have been baptized.
