thatās what a really bad translation is supposed to be, from a Catholic POV: offensive notes (the āpestilent glossesā Henry VIII complained about!), coupled with deliberate choice of words (one might say āmistranslationā) that promote anticlericalism and heretical views to the unwary reader.
