When did the Holy Ghost become the Holy Spirit?

I am in a Bible Study; current study is the Acts of the Apostles. I can understand why this book could also be referred to as the Acts of the Holy Spirit. Which leads me to this question. When did the Holy Ghost (that I knew as a child) become referred to as the Holy Spirit? Holy Spirit is truly more definitive but I am curious what year and what circumstances brought about this change. I realize this is not just a Catholic change because most Christians now refer to the Holy Spirit and no longer call the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity - the Holy Ghost. Thank you.
