When did the use of the " Orthodox Church " come into being?

I have studied ancient Christianity, and I haven’t found the title the Orthodox Church in use until late into the 15th century? I wondered why that is since all I can find as an offiical title to the Ancient Church is the Catholic Church. Do the Orthodox brethren view themselves as Catholic Christians too?

The Catholic church and the “Orthodox” church were one unified church until aprox 1054 when the Great Schism occured. The word “catholic” means universal, the word “orthodox” means correct belief. when the East and west split both churches held claim to being “the catholic church” but at some point in time the eastern church began using the title “The Holy Orthodox Catholic church” to differenciate from the western Latin Catholic church. In the USA where Catholisim is very prevalent the term “Orthodox” with out the Catholic portion is typically used to avoid confussion since “Byzintine Catholics” are in communion with Rome but Orthodox are not.
