Lol, for us it was the kidergarten Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, LA (we’re converts). I think the first thing my future wife told me was that she was going to marry one of the other boys in the class one day.😛 We were in the same circles growing up but never had an interest. Then, in college, we were part of a small group we knew that went to the same school. Next thing you know…three kids!😃

I met mine at a babyshower 😃 We had a mutual friend who both knew for over 10 years, and had never met until 2005 at our friend’s sister’s babyshower…

I met mine through a dating service that screened their clients. their criteria was sort of strict. The women had to be either in college, work part or full time while the men had to have full time jobs. guess they didn’t want any dead beats stiffing them.
We both were working full time jobs & wanted to find someone who met our personal criteria…being Catholic, as well as having good morals & work ethics.

Anyway, there were more guys to go around than women and I had my entire summer booked on weekends from morning, afternoon, and evenings meeting interesting fellows. Sad to say that those who called themselves “Catholic” in their bios were not even practicing until I met my dh. Not only was he Catholic, but on our 2nd date, he went to mass with me and even changed parishes so he could join me.

We will be married 10 yrs. this October. 😃

Met my ex in boot camp. My mom was in a hurry to have me marry for some reason. He proposed. I accepted.

Well after the divorce and very shortly before the decree of nullity, not realizing I wasn’t supposed to date until the anullment was final (bad catechesis), I put an ad in the newspaper. It’s what people did before the Internet. Instead of asking for a hunk, I asked to meet a guy who liked to go places and do things, liked kids, and had been in the military. I got a pile of responses, most of them form letters printed on dot-matrix printers, often with distasfeul accompanying photos.

I received two hand-written ones. The one from my now husband was friendly, kind, briefly descriptive of his job and hobbies, and in no way mentioned other activities.

I met him at a local mall, out in the open. And there hasn’t been a day I haven’t talked with him since.

But boy! All of the sudden, that anullment DRAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGED!😉

Well, it seems like about half meet their husbands through the “traditional” way of school–high school and college and the other half meet in all sorts of ways. 🙂
