When Did Your Diocese/parish get it's first Permanent Deacon?

KCK has 3 permanent deacons. A program was started a few years ago and we have 24 (I think studying for it). The three we have now moved here to be with family after being ordained when our program started. We have yet to actually ordained any of our own.

Never had one. I think our pastor would like one, because he is constantly hiring deacons from other parishes for our Novenas, etc, and uses EMHC for hospital and sick visits.
