When do our "thoughts" condemn us?

After Reconciliation to-day, I suddenly found myself, almost inadvertently, but yet still conscious in that I “chose to put my mind on such things”, thinking about what were clearly sinful thoughts…

Can “thinking sinful things” be a mortal sin? When does something become “deliberate”?

We are called to wrestle with our thoughts, but thoughts are just so fluid and easily apprehend us… almost the “growing shadow of sin behind us”…

So when and how do we know when or if at all thoughts and thinking can be sinful and thuscondemn us?

Thank-you.

Remember that they are thoughts-not actions. People who are bored/like to bully others can make ANYTHING sound like a mortal sin, so ask your priest, not people on the internet.

This is just the right response. Thank-you; thank-you.
