When do the changes in the Mass go into effect?

I had heard several years ago there were supposed to be some changes in the Mass, like what we say before Communion “… only say the word and I shall be healed.” being changed to something else. I had heard that we were supposed to be dropping “Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.” I forget what else there was. Anyone know when these changes are to take effect?

Not until the new Roman Missal is released and, depending on who you listen to, that could be anywhere from 2009 - 2012.

That’s about the time schedule I am aware of, but probably not until after 2010 at the earliest. There is still debate over the translations of the prayers here in the US. Unlike in the past, all the English speaking world has to agree as there will no longer be national translations. After all agree it has to go to Rome for final approval. It is all the back and forth that is taking all the time. Since the Missal was promulaged in Latin in 2000, there has been 8 1/2 years so far of trying to come up with an adequater translation that is acceptable to both Rome and all the English speaking countries.
