Would you please explain the red liturgical color on Palm Sunday? What other days than Pentacost and in honor of martyrs is red used during the year?

Red is a liturgical color that reminds us of blood and fire. That is why it used for the feast days of martyrs (who shed their blood), the days of the Lord’s passion (when He shed His blood for us) and Pentecost (when the Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire). During Holy Week red is the liturgical color for Palm Sunday and Good Friday, it also used for the votive Mass of the Precious Blood.
