When do you most feel the need to go to Confession?

What circumstances often occur when you feel the need to go to Confession?

Most of us sin every day, even if not in a serious way.

But what causes you to go to Confession? Is it a matter of time? (It’s been over a month…) Or is there a specific sin you feel more in need of Confession for? When you’re in a bad mood or angry?

For example, I may be uncharitable to family or friends, but I usually don’t feel the need to go to Confession for that. However, if I fall to some sexual sin, I immediately feel the necessity to go to Confession ASAP. This may be a bad mentality on my part, causing myself to ignore other sins.

FYI I know the difference between Mortal and Venial sin. I’m not asking about theology but your own personal experiences and habits.
 
The longer I am away from confession, the more I am in need of this great Sacrament. I can tell because although I hope I am growing in grace, I am also being chipped away at by sin, until I can make my next confession. I try always to go to confession for the love of God.
 
I have gotten into the habbit of going once a week. Might seem a lot to some, but I like to get rid of even my venial sins.

I do a devotion where I try to receive Holy Communion every day.

If I think I’ve committed a grave sin, obviously I can’t receive till I’ve confessed, so I go right away. This is a PITA obviously, and helps motivate me not to commit grave sins.

Otherwise I go every 20 days, required for the above devotion, and also within a few days of First Saturday, required for First Saturday devotion. Sometimes I can combine a First Saturday confession with the “every 20 days” (like if it’s 15 days or 22 days). On average this works out to about 2 confessions a month.
 
Wow that sounds beautiful and intense.

On a personal note, do you find a danger that daily communion might trivialize the sacrament? Or is it the exact opposite – do you appreciate communion more by receiving daily?

There’s periods where I’ll try to go every two weeks (because it unfortunately doesn’t take me long to fall back into sin). Then there’s periods where I’ll go months without it (not for lack of sinfulness, but lack of motivation or simple inability to make it). I just made it to a confessional two days ago after discovering another parish in my area and think I’ll frequent it often after Spring break.

I’d love the opportunity to go every day, but there’s just not enough priests to make it a possibility.
 
Not trivial; my personal life has been very stressful for a year now and I need my Jesus time.
I cry at church often
