Oh man yesterday I almost slipped and told my sister I was pg… 😦 I don’t know how long to keep this anymore…I am afraid that they will judge me but more than that, if I wait too long and then they reprimand me for holding back??? When would it be a good time to let the family know of the new addition that will be coming soon??

Also for work when do you think will be the best time to let my boss know?

Your advise is greatly appreciated!!!

As for family if you anticipate a negative reaction, I wouldn’t tell them at all. Let them notice. I know that sounds silly, but that’s what I do. And, it seems to work out better somehow. I have a friend who did this same thing. For both of us, when we made the announcement, we had a stern and cruel lecture about our irresponsible procreating  But, when we didn’t mention it, it was an “unspoken” reality. I much prefer silence to being berated.

I kind of live 3000 miles way they won’t notice unless I take close up pics of my belly! LOL 😦 So that kind of won’t work…I hear you…Even when I was married and having children my family was completely against it! “only have 1 child stop there! Ok now you have 2 that’s it! OMG you are what? Are you crazy money doesn’t grow on trees you know?! How are you going to feed those kids!!!” etc etc etc…my mother always begged me to get tubes tied, burned, exhusband to get a vasectomy, etc…I was always on the bcps…I didn’t know they were wrong! 😦 And my health paid for it dearly because of those pills!

It’s only been a few weeks right? You are 5 or 6 weeks along? From friends, it seems like waiting till after 8 weeks and even up to 12 weeks before telling anyone.

Man you know how hard it is, lol, to hold on to this secret! LOL It is like the biggest secret ever and holding it for 12 weeks seems like forever…I’m kind of scared that my family might show up before then or someone will see a pic of me or something and be like “hey doesn’t she look weird? Different?” And then hear my mother tell me something that will upset the c-r-a-p out of me! LOL She has a way of knowing these things it’s weird… 😦 UGH…lol…I think that’s a good or safe time, I really do! Thanks for sharing…

Oh what about at work, there are so many times I want to throw up and I will walk away try to pretend there is nothing wrong to go to the bathroom to throw up but nothing comes out…I am scared rumors will start spreading from me going to the bathroom so much like that you know?!

Oh man, i didn’ think about work and morning sickness at all…yikes! I don’t know then! If you decide to tell work people, then make sure you tell your family! Wouldn’t that be disaster…

I have three children. I remember my wife insisted that we should not let on for three months. I seem to remember that she put it to me like it was some sort of rule.

Bringing a child into the world is a beautiful and wonderous thing. God bless you and here’s hoping for healthy baby!!.

Be confident! Say, I am expecting a child, and I am so happy! IGNORE any negative comments. Simply do not “hear” it. Just talk about due dates, morning sickness, cravings, wondering if it’s a boy or girl, thinking of baby names, have to get the baby stuff out again, etc, etc, etc. Any negative comment must not be acknowleged. This is your life, you are living it in Christ, so live it proudly!

Tell them now and let them get over it. It’s better than waiting till the baby is born.

Bosses don’t like surprises, so unless you think being pg would be an issue for your job security, I would be completely up front and they’ll appreciate that more than if you just “let them notice your belly”. If your job would require a temp replacement or anything of the sort, you need to give them time to find that or to delegate your work to another employee in the meantime.

Congrats!👍

Especially if you had a history of miscarridges, I would wait until the doctor says its going the long haul, because it is devastating to talk about when you have it and then it is not there anymore. The only people you can tell is your spouse. I hear most women tell at 3-5 months because there pre-natal care is going so well and that is when the doc gives a clear green light. However, people get excited or clue in on you not drinking liquor or looking too glowing…, so…, you never know…, they can call you on it, and what more, the holidays are right around the corner, so maybe you won’t have to say a word. Let them notice…, ohhh but the excitement, the blessing…, hard keeping it in. Dont think I could do it myself!

God Bless You, the family, and the baby!!

With your family, it depends. If you were to have a miscarriage, would you want to be able to turn to them for support? If so, tell them now. However, if you would be more inclined to keep a potential miscarriage to yourself, then wait until the first trimester is over, when the risk of miscarriage decreases quite a bit. I hate to deal with the possibility of miscarriage with such a wonderful thing as a pregnancy, but in reality, that is the biggest unknown with when to tell.

At work, unless you are good friends with them, don’t tell them until you’re starting to show, definitely not before the 1st trimester is over (unless you can’t avoid it) That would be my approach, because I tend to be cautious about letting out personal information.

Yeah…that’s just it when would it be a good time?? Holiday outings with boss are coming and there is alcohol there!!! It’s this December…I think the first week so not sure when would be a good time at all! Esp since my boss expects everyone to at least have one drink!! 😦 UGH! So complicated!!! Thanks again for your advise!

My fiance has told all of his friends!! 😦 lol They keep telling him things like “it’s a girl!” Over and over and over and he’s hopeful it’s a boy! I am like I am now 6 weeks and you are telling the whole world? I upset him because this is his first baby and we were told I wouldn’t be able to have any children so of course he’s going to blurr it out to the world! But I didn’t think of it that way, I am scared of miscarriages, you know, and ill wishing you know, and the what will they say and think kind of thing not only that but I wanted to wait a little bit longer and with my hormones driving me insane, literally, I blow up on everything, I didn’t take it well that everyone in his circle knows! And he didn’t appreciate me putting him down on it! 😦

I guess I should just wait till this ultrasound that I am getting done today and 2 more weeks, once I am 2 months pg I will just have to let everyone know…maybe I should wait till after Thanksgiving…yeah I think that’s a good thing…Maybe?🤷

Oh man to find the courage! GOD HELP ME!! 😦 It’s so hard you know? I wish I had your courage!!!

Hm, yes you have a point here…what about fiance’s parents? They don’t like me very much…when do you think we should tell them or fiance should tell them?

Yes I know they will need a temp or someone else to take on my job, OH MAN! Should I wait till right after Thanksgiving? And be like “we were blessed dearly and have something to really give thanks for?” And ask both bosses, supervisor and assistant director to a personal meeting where I tell them I am about 2 months pregnant even though I was told I wouldn’t be able to have children??? Your help is greatly appreciated!

See that’s my fear too if I miscarry the pain involved and to see everyone’s faces of “im sorry!” I hate people feeling sorry for me I wouldn’t know how to deal with it! 😦 And then to hear my mother tell me “it’s for the best look at you you are overweight you need to lose weight and get married before you have a baby or even think about a baby GOD knows what he’s doing and you having a baby right now was not a good thing! Besides you have 3 why do you want more seriously!!! Your putting your health in jeopardy and then what about your other 3 children?” This is how my mother is sseriously! UGH so hard…I wouldn’t be able to live with myself after words! 😦

I know I wouldn’t be able to turn to them I know I wouldn’t I would hear the GOD knows what He’s doing and you weren’t meant to so deal with it kind of speech and I would hate myself esp since I was told I couldn’t have anymore kids to be pg right now it’s a huge miracle and surprising blessing for us!

I am kind of close to my boss…not sure though how she would take the news so early on…you know?! I know she cares for my kids and myself but I don’t know if telling her this moment about a new baby would be a positive thing??? 😦

I think it’s best if you tell them as soon as possible. The quicker you tell the news, the less likely you are to experience negative responses. Tell your mother or father what happened and be very honest towards them. Do not say a lie to them because that will just worsen everything. Have courage and the gut to tell them that. Pray to Lord Jesus so that everything will turn out perfectly fine and so that you don’t experience difficulties. Good luck and hurry!👍
