In times like that, cling to Jesus as you would a fire hydrant during a tornado.

Keep your eyes on the Lord, and ignore the storm so you don’t start falling into the sea. If unable to pray actual prayers, use the one-liners: Jesus, I trust in you; Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I love you, save souls!, etc.

Even the Holy Name of Jesus would be sufficient. The name of Mary as well.

Confusion can be a great tool of the devil to stop us in our tracks. Pray hard for clarity and peace and hopefully it will go away.
 
Confusion can also be caused by other things: illness; diet; depression.

Finding a spiritual director would help, also, just in case it is spiritual.
