When does lent end?

Yesterday. We are in the Tridum now.

Not until after the Easter Vigil. We are still very much in a penitential season until the beginning of the Vigil.

This is what the General Norms for the Liturgical Calendar and the Year states about that:

1. Lent runs from Ash Wednesday until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper exclusive.

Obviously the original post is from a young person who just wanted a simple answer.

Having recently returned to the Church, this is the first thread I’ve read since I had the same question. And am no closer to the answer than I was before reading it. As my mother used to say “if you can’t be helpful stay quiet”.

They probably are assuming that Lent doesn’t into Holy Week.
However it does. Up until the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thrusday. Then the Triduum begins

That depends on you. Given up something for Lent is a private devotion.

I agree with this. It has always been my understanding that Lent ends at the Supper. Then we begin the Tridium and The Easter Octave begins on Easter Sunday. Am I spelling tridium right? I think my spell check isn’t Catholic.

Certainly not. Traditionally, I think before Vatican II in fact, the Lenten season did not end until the Easter Vigil, so the last day of Lent was in fact Holy Saturday. A lot of people still hold their Lenten regulations through Holy Saturday.

Even though the Lenten season is technically over on the evening of Holy Thursday, I still observe my Lenten penance of giving something up because I believe that I shouldn’t be enjoying the thing I gave up when Christ is being handed over to be crucified.
