A relative of mine has had a very serious road traffic accident and is receiving critical care. He is on life support including a ventilator. If the hospital wants to turn off the machines because in their opinion there is not sufficient signs of life in my relative what does the catholic church teach about this issue regarding turning off life support?

Dear Father,

Here is info on the National Catholic Bioethics Center (ncbcenter.org)
6399 Drexel Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19151

This is their field and I suggest that you phone them immediatley: (215) 877-2660.
