How do you handle it when you feel God has let you down?

Have you ever prayed and prayed about something and you knew that it was God’s Will and it all blew up in your face anyway? What do you do then, when your trust in God is shattered?

Have you ever prayed and prayed about something and you knew that it was God’s Will and it all blew up in your face anyway? What do you do then, when your trust in God is shattered?

You knew what you were praying for was God’s will? Even Christ in Gethsemane didn’t know if God willed for Him to avoid His crucifixion when He prayed for the cup of suffering to be taken from Him.

His only prayer was that the Father’s will be done instead of His own human will in all circumstances.

Obviously having hopes and dreams and having them come to nothing is awful (it’s happened to me countless times) - but that means I’ve been the one who’s let God down by not conforming myself to His will instead of my own.

Life lets us down but God never does. I have had things blow up in my face, and to be honest, I cried, and then kept on praying. Sometimes, it takes a little before you can pray with words, but God also hears our silent prayers spoken in our hearts. Often what we want, is not Gods will. And often, other peoples free will means we dont get what we want. I always try to keep praying that my will will conform to Gods, and that in the end, He knows what is best for me.

It is okay to be disappointed, but we have to remember it is not God`s fault. It is okay to get angry though. Talk to God about whatever you are feeling. And keep on praying!

yeah, all the time, and it invariable transpires that what I was praying for was not God’s will after all, as I learned without question the way things panned out. be very very careful about ever making the pronouncement “it is God’s will” unless your name begins with G and ends with d.

As was said God did not let you down. There are many things we cannot understand.

Have you ever prayed and prayed about something and you knew that it was God’s Will and it all blew up in your face anyway? What do you do then, when your trust in God is shattered?

Again, you cannot know the mind of God, but you can pray for trust, and to accept what has happened. Just beg for your pain and doubt to be taken away, and believe that God will grant that request.

God never promised us earthly happiness, but He did promise His peace to all who ask and accept the gift.

God will never let you down and He’s not letting you down now.
Usually it’s other people that are the problem. He gives them
all free will when it would be better if He just gave me free will
and made all the rest of them do as I say.

Another problem is the laws of science. Usually God sticks to
them unless there is a very important reason not to. By an
important reason, I mean as far as His kingdom is concerned,
not that we want a sickness, accident, or death not to occur.

The free will of others causes many tragedies, and the
innocent suffer. Many times, we can’t do anything about it.
But remember - the Bible promises that God turns all things
to the good of those who love Him. Do you love Him? Then
continue to love Him. Look and see what good God can
bring from this. If you are really suffering and you can’t pray,
ask others to pray for you. Keep asking as much as you
need to, you are not bothering people. Anyone who prays
for you will be greatly blessed.

Be sure of this: Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
Jesus will fight for you, He doesn’t want to lose you. None of us

You pray to be freed from your dispair and to be shown why your prayers weren’t answered.

Remember prayers are rarely answered on our time. Sometimes it takes years for a prayer to be answered. God doesn’t hold himself to our expectations of time.

Life is full of disappointments simply because what we want is not always what God wants. No matter how hard we pray or wish it to be so, sometimes God’s answer is no.

The wife of a friend of mine recently passed away, in spite of many prayers and well wishers, her time was up. We can not fathom why someone is taken away from us when we feel that their presence is especially needed here. Her children needed her, her husband needed her and her family and friends needed her.

Yet for reasons not understandable by us, God called her home.

IF we always had our way there would be no deaths, no suffering, no heartaches, BUT then we would be in Heaven, not earth. As long as we are in this life and not in Heaven, we can not and will not always have our way.
