Help me answer the question associated with the creation the world. How many years have passed since the day when the world was created? From various forums and articles on the Internet I know what world was created 7500 years ago, more precisely 7518

God shall created world 7500 years ago, or have other data?

There are Protestant churches that believe that the world was literally created around such time, however others, including the Catholic Church are open to recognise that ‘day’ translates into 'periods"

From the ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS XII: Humani Generis

“the Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter–for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God. However this must be done in such a way that the reasons for both opinions, that is, those favorable and those unfavorable to evolution, be weighed and judged with the necessary seriousness, moderation and measure, and provided that all are prepared to submit to the judgment of the Church, to whom Christ has given the mission of interpreting authentically the Sacred Scriptures and of defending the dogmas of faithful[11] Some however rashly transgress this liberty of discussion, when they act as if the origin of the human body from pre- existing and living matter were already completely certain and proved by the facts which have been discovered up to now and by reasoning on those facts, and as if there were nothing in the sources of divine revelation which demands the greatest moderation and caution in this question.”

The following quotes are from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

279 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."116 Holy Scripture begins with these solemn words. The profession of faith takes them up when it confesses that God the Father almighty is "Creator of heaven and earth" (Apostles' Creed), "of all that is, seen and unseen" (Nicene Creed). We shall speak first of the Creator, then of creation and finally of the fall into sin from which Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to raise us up again.

282 Catechesis on creation is of major importance. It concerns the very foundations of human and Christian life: for it makes explicit the response of the Christian faith to the basic question that men of all times have asked themselves:120 "Where do we come from?" "Where are we going?" "What is our origin?" "What is our end?" "Where does everything that exists come from and where is it going?" The two questions, the first about the origin and the second about the end, are inseparable. They are decisive for the meaning and orientation of our life and actions.

283 The question about the origins of the world and of man has been the object of many scientific studies which have splendidly enriched our knowledge of the age and dimensions of the cosmos, the development of life-forms and the appearance of man. These discoveries invite us to even greater admiration for the greatness of the Creator, prompting us to give him thanks for all his works and for the understanding and wisdom he gives to scholars and researchers. With Solomon they can say: "It is he who gave me unerring knowledge of what exists, to know the structure of the world and the activity of the elements. . . for wisdom, the fashioner of all things, taught me."

Its ridiculous to say the world is only a few thousand years old.
Its approximately 4.5 billion years old.

You sound very definitive - why did you open the thread?

Catholics are not required to believe in a 144-hour creation. We are required to believe that God created everything ex nihilo. We are not told how or when.

Incidentally, the “big bang” hypothesis was developed by a Catholic scientist-priest, Monsignor Georges Henri Joseph Édouard Lemaître. It is not contrary to Catholic doctrine.

You can stop right there. It’s highly unlikely that you really “know” anything based on “various forums and articles on the Internet.” Certainly not about such an inaccessible subject as the creation of the world.

The world was created as the Bible describes.
The world was created on October 22 at 9 am, 4004 BC
No big bang and evolution. Everything was set up immediately with extinct animals and the expanding universe.

If you really are Catholic then you should realise what you are asking is nonsense!

I too doubt the "sincerity’ of OP’s assertion of being a Catholic of any ilk. Certainly one could question the status of practical Catholic to be sure.

On what ‘Day’ was the Sun, Moon & Earth created in the Genesis account?
Since the “day” that you call 24 hrs & is being used to calculate the Time since creation began did not come into existance until after several of God’s Days had already passed this clearly indicates that God’s Days & what we consider Earth Days
have a time differential between them. & the Bible makes no clear delineation about
these Days/Periods/epics.

I fear that Next the OP will be forecasting the 2nd coming based upon her Special Knowledge & insight for these heretofore unreferenced sources. 😃

So if you desire to continue this thread I would suggest you post your CATHOLIC Sources for your clearly disordered Theory/assumption/assertion.

If the world is only a few thousand years old, why does it look so much older? Why do scientists instruments say that it is much older? Surely God would not seek to deceive us!

God created all this. Big Bang was not, but the big bang was. Animals do not die out, and were created dead. Universe is expanding, but the point of beginning, it was not
Imagine all the finish.
The horse created an adult, she was not young. Everything has a beginning, passing the very beginning. Difficult to imagine the continuation of the beginning of a non-existent. Beginning, there was not, but it has continued.
Extinct animals were created extinct.

I’m having a hard time making sense of the way you are phrasing things Raphael. It could be because english may be your second language. If that is the case, there may be someone here who can translate for you so we can all be on the same page here.

Also, can you explain what you mean by extinct animals were created extinct?

And, lastly do you accept all the dogmas and doctrines of the Catholic Church with pope Benedict XVI as vicar of Christ on Earth?

I’ve heard this argument before - that God “planted evidence,” essentially, to make it LOOK like the Earth is billions of years old.

Which begs the question of WHY the Almighty, Who is All Truth and in Whom there is no lie, would have done such a thing?
