Hello

During the Liturgy of the Hours, I am wondering when ‘Amen’ is said.

Is it after every Psalm? After every Psalm prayer? After every antiphon? After the intercessions? After the responsory? After all of these things? Or is there no specific instruction.

Thank you for your help.

It varies. Universalis: Universalis: Vespers

Say, “Amen,” at the end of every complete ‘Glory to the Father’ Prayer:
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. Amen.
And, at the end of the Concluding Prayer ("…for ever and ever. Amen.") and at the end of the Dismissal:
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen.
At the first hour, when the Invitatory is said, a complete Glory to the Father Prayer with Amen is said at the end of the Invitatory Psalm before the Antiphon, according to the pattern below. The Invitatory begins with the word, “Lord, open my lips,” etc.

At other hours, a complete Glory to the Father Prayer with Amen is said after the opening verse:
God, come to my assistance. Lord, make hast to help me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.
A complete Glory to the Father Prayer with Amen is also said at the end of each psalm in the Psalmody and at the end of the Gospel Canticle, according to the following pattern:
Antiphon.
Psalm or Canticle.
Glory to the Father Prayer with Amen.
(Psalm Prayer.)
Antiphon.
I don’t know if you are suppose to say, “Amen,” after the optional Psalm Prayers, as I never say them.

Note: A complete Glory to the Father Prayer is not said at the Responsory but only the first part, “Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.” So, no Amen there.
