When is being gay not gay?

Gays were very closeted then and they are more “in your face” now. Read the Bible (here I go again) way back then there was a whole city of gays (a twin city at that) it was called Sodom and Gomorrah.
Weren’t they destroyed for their sexual deviancy in general, not necessarily homosexuality? And even if it was homosexuality, I don’t think it’s the kind that we’re seeing today.

Either way, I don’t think nature can explain the existence of so very many gays as we have today. Sure, they were more closeted back in the day out of fear; but throughout history, that kind of persecution has always proved ineffective against shutting people up about who they are. Why should it have been any different with homosexuality?

I think the truth is that societal aspects today convince many people with some relatively minor issues with themselves that this actually means they’re patently homosexual.

They weren’t destroyed for being gay (having feelings for the same sex) they were destroy for doing gay acts and general wickedness but homosexuality was the act most noted.

Because gays have political clout now.

I’ll agree with this also.
