I went to confession today, and just before the priest gave absolution for the sins that I had just confessed, I remembered that I had also engaged in an eating binge the night before. But I didn’t want to interrupt him, so I didn’t mention it. Now I wonder if I should have.
So at what point does gluttony, such as the incident I mentioned above, beome a mortal sin? Should I abstain from receiving communion until I confess this? Sorry if this is a stupid question; but I’m still a new Catholic and still have trouble at times figuring out which sins are mortal.
