In the Liturgy and Sacraments forum, someone asked when Lent ends in the Latin church (Holy Thursday).

I’m curious whether there is a uniform answer for the Eastern churches, and if not, what are the various answers?

The end of Great and HolyLlent is Friday evening before Palm Sunday. Lazarus Saturday & Palm Sunday is 1 Liturgical movement (1 48 hour liturgical day). Holy week is a separate and more strict fast & starts with Vespers Palm Sunday evening.

Have a Blessed and Holy, Holy Week!!

Thank you, and likewise!

All Churches of the Constantinopolitan (“Byzantine”) tradition end the Great Fast with the celebration of Vespers with the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts on the eve of Lazarus Saturday.
