Jules, That is sad that a mother can treat her own flesh and blood that way! Thank God you are in his life. 14 is such an awkward age for boys!
Things are getting a little easier to manage. I actually handled my dh’s over-dramatic niece pretty well yesterday. She called for the first time ever and was crying, told my son to have my dh call her. I thought somebody had died because she never calls, but it turns out she got her first “hate” mail from dh’s mother (her grandmother) and freaked out. I told her the same thing her aunt told her… we have all gotten them, welcome to the big boys club. So after work we went and picked her up and took her grocery shopping so we could talk. I was bummed because she brought her live in boyfriend with her. For the most part, everything was cool, but as things got too personal, she did what she always does and retreated into talking about movies and sex. This young lady has done so many things wrong in her life and now has the opportunity to fix alot of it but we are afraid she will sabotage it as usual. She got laid off and as part of the package she can go to college, but she has to get her drivers license back (revoked, not suspended for drinking on anti-depressants). Anyway, she is trying to get things together, but so far she hasn’t hit the hard part, so we will see.
As far as all the other stressors…yesterday I totally forgot to sign my son up for summer school and instead went and picked up dd from a friends house during my lunch hour… so then I panicked because I couldn’t remember whether it started today or tomorrow or if they even had room left in the course. So I brought him to work with me today and called the school…starts tomorrow…whew!!! And I can go pay for the class up till 3:30 today…WHEW!!! So he is sitting with me here at work for a little while and then I will take him to the school and get him signed up.
NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I got my statement from the insurance company and I only have to pay $125 out of the hospital bills for the miscarriage, the broken leg apparently counted for the deductible so even though the boss paid for it… it went towards the deductible. Not sure about the surgeon’s bill ($1214) yet as all the doctors bill separately. Haven’t heard anything back on the school tuition situation yet… I am sending an email today to them to ask if anything was done on it.
One day at a time things are easing a little bit…
