What does the Eucharist grace do ? To improve your life. Or the people you know and meet. MaKe you happier?

Or heal the sick?

By receiving the holy eucharist, you are becoming a vessel for Jesus Christ. It doesn’t get more sanctifying than that! Like our Monsignor says after the dismissal, remember, You carry Jesus in you, drive carefully!

Could you explain this more? Just the idea of physically receiving Jesus is enough to make the sacrament very holy & special, but now that I think of it, I’m not sure I have a clear picture of the “function” of this sacrament, though I realize thinking of the Eucharist in terms of function may be improper in the first place. I have an analytical/managerial personality so I have a strong tendency to think in those terms. Maybe, “you get to receive Jesus Christ in person” ought to warrant no further explanation.

I understand, for example, baptism and reconciliation, because they remove sins. They have an easily understandable purpose. But sins are already suppose to be removed before receiving Eucharist, so what does the Eucharist do? It gives eternal life, but isn’t this already gained once you receive Our Lord the first time? What happens when we receive Him weekly or daily?

Thanks.

I feel better after taking the Eucharist, cleaner. Also, I feel it helps to grow Christ within me so that I want to do what He wants because I feel Him within me growing each time I take the body of Christ.

It satisfies an emotional desire to to united with something bugger than yourself

Got a feeling it would be wise to again impress on you that only Catholics and Eastern Orthodox who are in the state of Sanctifying Grace should receive the Holy Eucharist.

1 Corinthians 11:27-30 gives a warning.** It’s not something to be taken lightly.**
