When should a layperson speak at Mass?

If I am doing a small talk at Sunday Mass on a faith related matter, shouldn’t it occur after Communion, or is it okay to immediately follow the homily, though from the other side of the altar?

Although a layperson’s talk *can *follow the homily, placing it at that time means that it can very easily be confused with the homily. For that reason, it is better to place a layperson’s faith reflections after Communion.
