When should EMHCs receive Communion?

The parish that I belong to began giving extraordinary ministers of holy Communion their Communion after they have given it to the community. In other parishes where I attend Mass from time to time, the EMHCs always receive prior to giving out the body and blood of Jesus Christ. What is the proper sequence of events?
 
So far as I know, your parish’s practice is fine. Also fine is distributing Communion to the EMHCs before they distribute Communion. What is not fine is for the EMHCs to be given Communion before the priest receives Communion. The priest (and any concelebrating priests) should receive Communion first before it is distributed to a deacon or EMHCs.
