Do you say, yes, Iam a Catholic. Or, do you say, Iam Christian?
Or, do you say both? for example: Catholic Christian.

After I am done with RCIA, get my annulment and enter the Church, I will plan to say “Yes, I am Catholic.”

Even when I was Protestant I was very hesitant to say “I am Christian” due to some of the holy-roller, fundamentalist, born again connotations that implies. That is not the kind of Protestant I was and did not want to associate myself with it. I grew up United Church of Christ and then attended a Unity church (non-denom and no ties to Baptist).

To me, “Are you Christian?” is a loaded question.

I say Yes, Catholic Christian. Usually leads to a conversation.

I say: NO, I’m Catholic!!

Just kidding

Sometimes I’ll reply: “I’m a Franciscan” and they will look funny and ask if I’m from San Fancisco. Which then allows me to explain and enter into a conversation.

I say yes. And if they go on to ask what church I’m affiliated with, I say Catholic. That could lead to questions such as “Do you know Jesus”, to which I reply “with all my heart”. And if they ask “are you saved”… well, that’s a conversation starter, isn’t it?

I just respond that I am Catholic. This usually starts a conversation.

I say “Yes”. Sometimes I say “Yes, I am Catholic” (as opposed to “No-I’m Catholic”!!! )

I say “Christian.” That was our first name as a faith. If they ask what church I go to, I say,“Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church.”

I have heard from many Catholics the following, “I’m not Christian, I am Catholic”.

I never understood that.

This is why so many Catholics leave the faith, because of their poor understanding of it.

I say I am a Catholic Christian. Are you? Then I share the faith of the Church Jesus Christ established.

Unfortunately many people don’t like to hear about it, it makes them uncomfortable.

I would say I’m a true Christian, and that I know that because I belong to the first and only Christian church….The Catholic Church!

Everyone who is Catholic should respond “yes”. If you say you are Catholic, that is fine, but Catholics are Christians, and those of us who know that make things worse by not making that very clear.

No one yet as asked me this question (I hope someday!) but when they do, I’ll say, “I’m a Catholic Christian and glad to be!”😃

I LOVE BEING CATHOLIC!:yup::clapping::dancing::love:
